Even if you’ve never seen a single production, chances are you’ve at least heard of Swan Lake. Maybe you’re like me and had your first exposure to the story thanks to the 1994 animated movie The Swan Princess.

The Muny has selected the seven teams of directors, choreographers, music directors and lead designers whose creative visions will shape the Tony Award-winning theatre’s 2026 season in Forest Park.

The word legend is tossed around quite a bit when talking about performers. Sometimes it’s true but many times it isn’t. This past Friday evening at Wolf Trap’s Filene Center two true modern day legends of musical theatre took the stage to pay homage to two all-time legends of entertainment.

Tony Award winners Sutton Foster (THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, LITTLE WOMEN, SHREK THE MUSICAL, ANYTHING GOES, THE MUSIC MAN) and Kelli O’Hara (THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, SOUTH PACIFIC, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, THE KING and I) stunned with the Utah Symphony at the Deer Valley Music Festival in Park City on Saturday, July 26.

Tony Award winners Sutton Foster (“Anything Goes,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie”) and Kelli O’Hara (“The King and I”) – each acclaimed as a Broadway performer and song-and-dance artist of the first order – are also known for solo concert appearances.

Broadway favorites come to life in Grand Rapids this summer with Tony Award-winning stars Sutton Foster and Kelli O’Hara, in a one night show with the Grand Rapids Symphony’s Picnic Pops Series: “A Night of Broadway with Sutton Foster and Kelli O’Hara”  The celebrated duo will pay homage to icons of stage and screen, including Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett, as well as fan favorites from their Tony Award-winning and nominated shows. This is a show that the Broadway fan will not want to miss, and it is already the buzz in the theatre community!   Broadway World Michigan had the chance to interview the Tony Award winner, Emmy and Grammy-nominated actress Kelli O’Hara, ahead of the show in Grand Rapids, discuss the show, and get a taste of what we might see!

What did our critic think of THE MUSIC MAN at City Springs Theatre Company?

Written by Richard Beynon and directed by Tim Riessen at Stirling Theatre, The Shifting Heart is set during the 1956 Christmas season and delves into the lives of an Italian immigrant family in Collingwood struggling to find their place, despite prejudice and misunderstanding.

Bergen County Players will take humor back to its roots, combining the time-tested 2,000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville for an all-new production of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

The production is frankly unnecessary, too long, and way too slow for what it really is. The characters (publicist Pat Newcomb, actor Peter Lawford and his wife Patricia Kennedy, Marilyn’s psychiatrist and his spouse, her physician, and her housekeeper) go around in circles like Masterson’s revolving stage, beating around the bush until, finally, we find out what the core of the issue is, nearly halfway through the second act. They’re all trying to protect the Kennedys: a scandal would bring down the government at a crucial point in history.
