BroadwayWorld chats with lesbian icon Lea DeLaria about her upcoming performances at Feinstein's at the Nikko on May 29th & 30th. DeLaria will perform an evening of classic jazz tunes leavened with comedic tales.

On Friday, April 17th, I had the pleasure of seeing a phenomenal show at the Warner (specifically the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre) in Torrington, CT, THE WEDDING SINGER, based on the 1998 movie that is set in 1985. The book for this stage adaptation of the film written by Chris Herlihy is written by Chad Beguelin and Chris Herlihy, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Director and choreographer Travis Kendrick-Castanho combines his strong directing talents with those of the associate Emily Rafala and the musical director Nate McCuin to help bring out the best in this first-rate cast! Without exception, every lead and ensemble cast member absolutely excels in his or her role or roles!

FRIGID New York will present the 19th annual New York City Fringe Festival across multiple venues in New York City. The festival will feature a diverse array of performances with all box office proceeds directly benefiting the artists.

The Broadway production of Ragtime was a glorious accomplishment, a riveting testament to the original American musical and to all that America itself could be. The show ran for 834 performances at the Ford Center, closing in the final year of the 20th century. It was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, taking home four.

SoHo Playhouse's 2026 International Fringe Encore Series begins on January 3 and runs through March 29, and provides opportunities to emerging artists who show exceptional talent at each season's Fringe Festivals both artistically and commercially.

I'll tell you why I decided to do it; then I'll tell you about the toughness, but I read this about 1999, and just loved it. It made the hairs on my arms stand up, especially visualizing the very last scene with the entire cast swaying back and forth, and giving the illusion of them not swaying. You're not sure if they are or not.
