Shane Peterman, Producing Artistic Director has announced details of the Company’s 2022-2023 Season.  This season marks the 27th for WaterTower Theatre, and the fourth season programmed by Producing Artistic Director Shane Peterman & Associate Producer Elizabeth Kensek.  

Kayla Capone Kasper makes her New York City solo show debut with a unique tribute show to her favorite actress... the one who shares her face.

This week, FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club & Private Event Destination, will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

This morning, I had the opportunity to speak with Sam Primack (currently playing the alternate Evan Hansen going on twice a week) and Jessica E. Sherman (playing Heidi Hansen, Evan’s mother) in the popular musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN. The show is the story of an anxious high schooler named Evan who, in order to be liked, lies about his friendship with a fellow student. I reached them in the middle of their run in Baltimore prior to their arrival to the Capital Region area.

It's always nice when we see a show that has never been performed in Ventura County so we were looking forward to seeing 5-Star Theatricals' Something Rotten!, the 2015 sendup of Shakespeare that answers the question: 'What if Shakespeare had a rival?' As you will read in our upcoming review in The Acorn, we were not disappointed. Something Rotten! is a riotous romp with a twisted premise, as brother Nick and Nigel Bottom attempt to upstage (literally) theatre superstar Willie Shakespeare with their next production: the first musical. Due to the faulty efforts of a befuddled Nostradamus, the Bottom Brothers set out to produce their musical, titled Omelette. Recently, we visited with two stars from 5-Star's production: Justin Michael Wilcox, who plays Nick Bottom, and Aleks Pevec, who plays the strutting Shakespeare.

Following a successful limited Broadway engagement this fall that included a 2020 Special Tony Award, improv sensation FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME, conceived by Anthony Veneziale and created by Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anthony Veneziale, is now on tour!

Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling's cultural hub, is at last celebrating its monumental 50th Anniversary year after the pandemic postponed celebrations due to start in September 2021. A Los Angeles theatre community favorite Ryan O'Connor dons his directorial hat for A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, opening at Greenway Court Theatre February 4th. I had the chance to question Ryan on A LITTLE behind-the-scenes of NIGHT MUSIC, his pandemic past times and his various ties with the L.A. theatre scene.
