Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director), recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award in 2016, launches its 80th milestone season with The Color Purple, directed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle. The Color Purple is the Tony Award-winning musical revival based upon the novel written by Alice Walker and the Warner Bros./Amblin Entertainment motion picture with a book by Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray. Cast members from the 2015 Broadway revival lead the Paper Mill Playhouse company, including Adrianna Hicks (Aladdin, Sister Act - Germany) as Celie, Carla R. Stewart (Ghost - National Tour, Rent - Regional) as Shug Avery and Carrie Compere (Holler If You Hear Me, Shrek the Musical - National Tour) as Sofia.

The Muny announced today that beginning with its 2019 season, casting for its productions will be by Telsey + Company, one of the nation's premier casting offices for theatre, film and television.

Producers John Lant and Cornell Christianson with ICFB Productions are pleased to announce the East Coast Off-Broadway premiere of IT CAME FROM BEYOND, a 1950's sci-fi, musical comedy with book by writer / producer Cornell Christianson, music and lyrics by Stephen M. For the tenth consecutive year, Broadway Dreams will partner with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for the return of their annual Summer Intensive, August 4 - August 12, 2018. Lead by an all-star roster of Broadway's brightest stars and industry professionals, Philadelphia's rising stars will participate in a week-long intensive focusing on acting, vocal performance and dance. The week will culminate in two public performances of THE HITS: Reimagined, a unique Broadway-style cabaret featuring Philadelphia-area students performing alongside their Broadway idols.

It was announced today that Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman (School of Rock) will star as 'Beetlejuice' and two-time Lortel Award nominee Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus) will star as 'Lydia' in the world premiere Pre-Broadway engagement of the new musical comedy Beetlejuice.
