The Burlington Discover Jazz Festival announces the first round of headliners for the 36th annual event happening this May 31-June 9, 2019. St. Paul & The Broken Bones join forces with Tank & The Bangas on Thursday, June 6 at the Waterfront Tent. On Saturday, June 8, Toots & The Maytals welcome the return of reggae to the iconic Waterfront Tent events, with The Big Takeover and Sabayouma to open.

Rising pop star Ella Vos' new EP Watch and Wait is due January 25. The EP is Vos' first new project since her critically acclaimed debut album, Words I Never Said. Furthermore, Vos is also sharing her video for 'Ocean' today-watch here.

WHO LISTENS? A Black Theater Winter Preview: Broadway and Off-Broadway Edition. The event is scheduled at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (515 Malcolm X Blvd) on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. Four-time Tony Award-winning producer Ron Simons of SimonSays Entertainment (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Porgy & Bess, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Jitney) will host the program whose purpose is to bring attention to the unprecedented number of plays by black playwrights being produced on Broadway and Off-Broadway this season.

ALLOND[R]A by Gina Femia, the recipient of the 2018 Leah Ryan Prize for Emerging Women Writers, will have a public reading, directed by Elena Araoz on Monday January 28, 2019, 7pm, at New Ohio Theatre

Andrea Wolff's I Can't Trace Time, a passionate and whimsical musical memoir, will play a show at downtown's alt-cabaret, Pangea, on Feb. 22nd, 2019 at 7pm. With a signature mixture of pop and Broadway played only by Music Director/Pianist Jude Obermuller and with an appearance by Special Guest, Sean Harkness, I Can't Trace Time features a master entertainer who has been widely lauded for her strong comic timing, offbeat and compelling characterizations and superb taste in music.

Today, the Los Angeles duo Girlpool, comprised of Harmony Tividad (she/her) and Cleo Tucker (he/him), has shared the title track from their upcoming album, What Chaos Is Imaginary. 'What Chaos Is Imaginary' showcases the band's constant evolution, featuring strings, synths, drum machines and stream-of-consciousness lyrics.

As rehearsals begin, casting is announced for the West End transfer of the National Theatre and Theatr Clwyd's critically acclaimed co-production of Home, I'm Darling, a new play by Laura Wade, directed by Theatre Clwyd Artistic Director Tamara Harvey, featuring Katherine Parkinson, which begins performances at the Duke of York's Theatre on 26 January.

After a sold out run last fall, the recent revival of The Diary of Anne Frank, by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman ('97 Broadway version) will return for a limited engagement previewing January 11, 2019.

The Public Theater announced initial casting today for the world premiere of WHITE NOISE, written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks. 

 The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) announced that the festival's opening night will be the screening of All is True directed by Kenneth Branagh on Friday, January 4.  The festival will close with Ladies in Black, directed by Bruce Beresford on Sunday, January 13. The Festival will screen 223 films from 78 countries, including 48 premieres (4 World, 13 North American and 31 U.S.) from January 3-14, 2019.  The line-up includes a focus on cinema from France, India and Mexico, Premieres, Talking Pictures, Book to Screen, Special Presentations, FLOS: Foreign Language Oscar Submissions, Gay!La, Local Spotlight, Modern Masters, True Stories, World Cinema Now, a 30-film retrospective of selections from past festivals (free screenings sponsored by Desert Care Network and National Endowment for the Arts), and more.   

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) has announced the Public Forum and Public Shakespeare Initiative spring line-up that will explore the intersection of art, ideas, and action and illuminate the study and performance of Shakespeare's works.
