NEW YEARS 2019-Get Ready to Dine and Party at These Spots

It's time to celebrate. As we ring out the old and ring in the new, there are a lot of great places in the area to enjoy great food and drink and an atmosphere that suits your style. Whether it's a special dinner or an all-out party, check out some of our suggestions that are offered at a variety of price points. We have included some of our very favorites for revelers to enjoy!

Monarch Rooftop (Herald Square) On New Year's Eve, from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am, Monarch will feature delicious passed hors d'oeurves and a premium bar for 5 hours. This 5,000 foot, 18th floor, enclosed and heated penthouse venue has a unparalleled view of the Empire State building with lots of stylish and comfortable seating options. Wolfgang's Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener (5 NYC Locations) All of the restaurants will be open for lunch and dinner New Year's Eve and offering their regular menu along with a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, noisemakers and hats. They will show the New Year's Eve Ball Drop from Times Square. Guests can enjoy any one of Wolfgang's USDA Prime steaks dry aged in the restaurant's own aging box. Choices include Porter House for Two or More, Prime NY Sirloin Steak, Rib Eye Steak, and Filet Mignon. The restaurants also offer a variety of seafood dishes such as Grilled Salmon and Jumbo Lobster, and a variety of classic steakhouse sides, appetizers, soups and salads. Farm to Burger (Times Square) This New Year's Eve, Farm to Burger is throwing an open bar bash featuring slider-sized versions of all signature burgers. Champagne will of course be included. Located on the ground floor of the new Aliz Hotel Times Square, this farm-to-table inspired ode to the American patty from Yves Jadot Restaurant Group (Dear Irving, The Raines Law Room) features pasture raised beef and Bien Cuit buns. Burger highlights include the All American - A 6 oz. Piedmontese beef burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese, bacon-tomato jam, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles, and the Great Jones - A splurge-worthy 10 oz. peppercorn-crusted Kobe beef burger with green olive salsa verde, horseradish cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and red onion. The Polynesian (Times Square) On NYE the city's ultimate Tiki bar, is offering an escape to Paradise in Times Square, with a Luau-themed bash from 9 pm to 1 am. The Polynesian's New Year's Eve Luau comes complete with a mouth-watering buffet featuring a Pig Roast, hip-swinging hula dancing and festive Hawaiian leis. Mekki (Greenwich Village) The restaurant is doing New Year's Eve Moroccan style! Highlights of the four-course New Year's Eve menu includes traditional Moroccan salads and appetizers, Tangine dishes like Fish Agadir (red snapper, tomato Chermoula, curcum and lemon verbena) and for dessert, there's Layla Pastylla, a flaky puffed filo, showered with Crème Anglaise, and sprinkled with roasted pistachios and Moroccan cookies. Analogue (West Village) They will have three options. The General Admission for $95 per person has an open bar, passed hor d'oeuvres and a champagne toast. For $145 per person and a two-ticket minimum, tables can be reserved with an open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, a meat & cheese platter and a champagne toast. CATCH NYC (Meatpacking District) On New Years Eve, they will kick off celebrations with Great Gatsby themed décor and decadent dinner specials. Offerings will include Scallops on the Half Shell, Whole Roast Duck for Two, and Flambé White Chocolate Dome. The full a la carte menu will also be available. There will be two seating times with the early seating taking place from 5:30-9:00PM. The late seating will begin at 9:00PM and will have a $200/person minimum (++) that will include automatic entrance to CATCH Roof after midnight. On New Year's Day, CATCH NYC will be open for brunch from 11:00AM-4:00PM and for dinner from 5:30-11:00PM. CATCH Roof (Meatpacking District) The Roof will host a "CATCH Gatsby" New Year's Eve soiree that will feature burlesque dancers, 20's themed props and live music from a violinist performer and DJ. Guests are invited to dress in 1920's cocktail attire and celebrate the New Year surrounded by Gatsby glamour including over 1,500 balloons. The Leopard at des Artistes (Upper West Side) Between 5pm - 8pm, a special New Year's Eve menu is offered, including their a la carte menu, which will feature "Capelacci" Ravioli filled with braised pheasant and porcini, in marjoram sauce; and "Lombata di Vitello," Pan seared veal loin and more. During The Leopard's last seating (10 pm - 11:30 pm), guests will enjoy a special pre-fixe selection of Italian New Year's recipes such as Punterelle in Salsa di Alici, wild Italian chicory salad, Risotto with braised winter radicchio and Traditional Cotechino con Lenticchie di Capodanno, large pork sausage with Castelluccio lentils. Following dessert, countdown celebrations ensue, and guests are guided to the park to watch the fireworks. ($185 per guest). The Pandering Pig (Hudson Heights in NYC) The restaurant is nestled in the quiet, quaint neighborhood of Hudson Heights and provides the perfect setting for those wishing to escape the city's New Year's Eve madness. Just a train ride on the A or the 1 will get you to this cozy spot. A carefully curated, Three-Course Prix Fixe menu By Chef/Owner Nicole O'Brien will be served. The menu is thoughtfully-sourced inventive renditions of classic French dishes with a distinctively Northern California mix, coined by Chef Nicole as "FreNoCal. DiWine Restaurant & Wine Bar (Astoria) This charming restaurant will have a NYE celebration that features a special a la carte menu, complimentary champagne toast at midnight, noise makers, hats and tiaras, and the New Year's Eve Ball Drop from Times Square will be shown on a large screen. Included in the evening's menu offerings are Wild Mediterranean Shrimp with Roman polenta, roasted cocktail tomatoes, Persian lemon and herbs, Roasted Baby Beets with breakfast radishes, orange segments, toasted pistachio, Vermont Creamery goat feta, Truffle Mac-N-Cheese with Gruyere béchamel, wild mushrooms and garlic herb crumbs, Cabernet-Braised Beef Short Ribs with butter steamed new potatoes, baby carrots and rainbow micro greens, and Pan Roasted Sea Scallops with oxtail marmalade, barley risotto and veal demi-glace ribbon, along with many other popular DiWine dishes. The Osprey at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge (Brooklyn) On New Year's Eve, enjoy a prix fixe menu. The experience will start with Nantucket Bay Scallop Crudo. For the first course, choose from Grilled Baby Octopus, Venison Tartare or Squid Ink Spaghetti. The second course offers a choice of Duck Breast, Lobster Pot Pie or Pasture Raised Beef. Finish the meal with a Lemon Ginger Souffle or Raspberry Baked Alaska. Brooklyn Heights Social Club. (Brooklyn) Located on the 10th floor at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, BHSC will offer a three-hour open bar and live music from DJ Junior Sanchez. Armani / Ristorante 5th Avenue (Midtown) This NYE, the acclaimed Italian fine dining destination by Giorgio Armani, offers an exclusive prix-fixe menu ($350 per person) complete with caviar and truffle-accented courses as well as dishes that traditionally bring good luck for the New Year. Rainbow Room (Midtown) The New Year's Eve Black Tie Bash offers a modern twist on old-world charm. The night will start with a cocktail hour boasting magnificent views, a premium open bar and passed canapes in The Gallery. Guests will then enter the famed Rainbow Room for an elegant four-course tasting menu, open bar, live entertainment, dancing on Rainbow Room's historic rotating dance floor. At midnight, guests can toast with Louis XIII. LDV Hospitality's Scarpetta (Nomad) On December 31st, the restaurant will celebrate their first New Year's Eve at their new flagship location, with three separate seatings. The first seating is at 5:00 pm with an À la carte menu, followed by a 7:00 pm seating with a prix fixe menu, which includes favorites such as their Creamy Polenta with Fricassée of Truffled Mushrooms, Spaghetti Tomato & Basil and Halibut with Leeks, Bluefoot Mushrooms, Asparagus and Artichoke, for $125 per person. The last seating at 9:30 pm includes live music, champagne toast at midnight and a five-course prix fixe menu for $195 per person. Zeppelin Hall (Jersey City, NJ) Just across the river, there's a come as you are party. The grand biergarten's New Year's Eve bash has absolutely no cover.
