The New York Drama Critics' Circle today named The Ferryman by Jez Butterworth best play of the 2018-19 season. The award for best musical went to Tootsie. What the Constitution Means to Me by Heidi Schreck was named best American play. The selections were made at the organization's 84th annual voting meeting.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre congratulates three productions that were honored with over 20 nominations in today's 2019 Tony Award announcement. Two of the shows were part of Berkeley Rep's 2017-18 season: the world premiere of Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations and the West Coast premiere of What the Constitution Means to Me. The third show, Hadestown, was developed through The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work in 2015.

Initially announced for a 12-week engagement through June 9, 2019, What the Constitution Means to Me previously extended through July 21, 2019 and will now play five additional weeks through August 24, 2019 at the Helen Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street, New York, NY), for a total run of 24 weeks. What the Constitution Means to Me officially opened March 31, 2019 after beginning preview performances March 14.

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb (Maria Striar, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Bulger, Associate Artistic Director; Quinn Metal Corbin, Advancement Director) is proud to announce the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 24th season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 17 through June 29 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: LUNCH BUNCH by Sarah Einspanier and directed by Tara Ahmadinejad; YOU NEVER TOUCHED THE DIRT by Zhu Yi and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and KING PHILIP'S HEAD IS STILL ON THAT PIKE JUST DOWN THE ROAD by Daniel Glenn and directed by Caitlin Ryan O'Connell.
