The Dessoff Choirs continues its season celebrating African American composer Margaret Bonds (1913-1972), a significant figure in the fight for civil rights.

Radical Kinship is Ensemble Pi’s new concert project, inspired by the work of global champion of social justice, Father Greg Boyle, and his belief in the power of radical kinship to heal society’s inequalities. F

Thankfully, these multiplying chills are not from COVID, but from Theatre Three's fantastically fun production of Grease, complete with an on-stage hot rod.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present Christina Bianco in her new show “A Lot to Unpack” on Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16 at 8:30 PM. Her bags are packed for London but before she leaves her hometown this globetrotting, genre-crossing, multi-voiced, multi-wig-wearing funny girl has some serious unpacking to do.

BIRDLAND will present Amanda Green & Friends “Vaxxed AF!” on Monday, October 4 at 7:00 PM. Tony Award-nominated lyricist/composer and award-winning performer Amanda Green will be joined by some amazing Broadway friends, including Darius de Haas, Ann Harada, Lesli Margherita, Curtis Moore, Natalie Douglas, and Dan Finnerty of The Dan Band.

The Marsh presenting performers with a vast range of music backgrounds– from a Grammy Award-winning Armenian composer to a Principal Dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, Music Faculty Member at UC Berkeley, the Principal Keyboard of the San Francisco Symphony, and more. The National Flute Associations 2021 Virtual Convention goes live on August 12-15, 2021. Flutists from 22 countries - professionals, students, and amateur flutists - will gather virtually to experience a multifaceted flute convention.

The Jennie T. Anderson Theatre is back with live, in-theatre shows, starting with CHESS in concert on July 24th. Directed by Lilliangina Quiñones, Artistic Director Jono Davis mentioned in the program that this show came together in just seven days for one night only. A part of the theatre's Overture Series, CHESS has actually been in progress since 2019, but was delayed due to the pandemic.

The American Dance Festival and the North Carolina Museum of Art have partnered to present Together We Dance, an outdoor festival in the Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater in the Museum Park from September 9 to 16.

Boasting 2300 performances, and no less than four revivals on Broadway, Man of La Mancha ranks among the most performed musicals around the world. The book is by Dale Wasserman, based on his own teleplay on the fictional life of Don Quixote and that of his creator Cervantes, a very melodic score by Mitch Leigh, his first musical effort and his only big success, and lyrics by Joe Darion, which gave us at least two standards, the title song and “The Impossible Dream”, the latter recorded not only by Jacques Brel but by Johnny Halliday and Julien Clerc.

Mike Stubbs is an observer of the idiosyncratic compulsions of British culture. His work often references the experiences of his youth in Bedford, from car culture and Santa Pod to flying days at Shuttleworth and the surrounding engineering and innovation plants of Bedfordshire.
