Billy, Klea and Jim are back for a twelfth year with their smash-hit holiday show... and lots of Christmas lights.

Tony and Emmy Award winner Billy Crystal will return to Broadway in MR. SATURDAY NIGHT, a new musical comedy about one comedian’s meteoric rise to the middle. Performances begin at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street) on March 1, 2022 and the show officially opens on March 31, 2022.

If you've never had an opportunity to see an original production, this is your chance. This Saturday, September 25, at 2 p.m., Actors Theatre of Indiana presents Provenance by Ethan Mathias. Mathias was chosen as one of the playwrights from ATI's LAB Series.

A new musical comedy, Mr. Saturday Night is about one man's meteoric rise to the middle. The musical is a work in development and will be presented with minimal set and costume pieces.  

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

After 15 years with the company, Rene Copeland, longtime artistic director for Nashville Repertory Theatre, is stepping down from her position with the organization, according to details included in a joint statement from the company's board of directors and Copeland, herself.

Over the past hundred years the theater community has celebrated some of the most notable events in Broadway's history at the Friars Club.   Last night the Barrington Stage Co. the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, Ma. under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd held their New York City Benefit in the legendary building where so many legends of the theater community have socialized and entertained each other.   John Rando the famed director was celebrated for his extraordinary talent and his contributions to BSC.  John has directed two of the most popular musicals in BSC history, The Pirates of Penzance and On the Town, which transferred to Broadway and received four Tony Award nominations, including Best Director.  At BSC John also directed The Royal Family of Broadway and Guys and Dolls and on Broadway, he won a Tony Award for his direction of Urinetown, The Musical.  

Bill Craver, who was honored in 2013 with a Tony Award for Excellence in the Theatre, died peacefully at the age of 87 on November 8, 2018, in Austin, Texas. Born in Texarkana, he graduated from Texas High and studied for two years at Texarkana College, before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin.
