Casting was announced today for THE Two Gentlemen of Verona - Midsommer Flight's seventh summer of free Shakespeare performances as an Arts Partner in Chicago Park District parks. The company's Founding Artistic Director Beth Wolf, who will direct Shakespeare's comedy, made the announcement today. Stefanie Powers and Clive Francis Star In New UK Tour Of 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD

Cambridge Arts Theatre today announces a new UK tour of James Roose-Evans' adaptation of Helene Hanff's novel 84 Charing Cross Road, in collaboration with Lee Dean and Salisbury Playhouse. Richard Beecham directs Stefanie Powers as Helene Hanff and Clive Francis as Frank Doel. Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival Announces Casting for OTHELLO

The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival (NDSF) has announced the casting for its upcoming production of The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice. The flagship production of the 2018 season, Othello will feature stage & screen veteran Esau Pritchett in the title role, with celebrated stage actor Robert Ramirez returning to the NDSF stage as Iago, and featuring Delaney Feener as Desdemona, Maggie Kettering as Emilia, and Paul Hurley as Roderigo. New York Classical Theatre Celebrates 19th Anniversary with ROMEO AND JULIET

New York Classical Theatre (Stephen Burdman, Artistic Director), New York City's only all-free professional Off-Broadway theatre company, is pleased to announce a new production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to celebrate its 19th Anniversary Season. The production, directed by Mr. Burdman, is the company's first staging of Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers, and will be presented in five New York City parks - Central Park, Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City, The Battery, Carl Schurz Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park - with performances from June 5 through July 29 at 7:00 PM. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. New York Classical Theatre also invites audiences to experience unique behind-the-scenes access to open rehearsals on selected dates for each of the five park stagings.  (more...)

Following the Globe engagement of Karen Zacarias's hilarious comedy directed by Edward Torres, Native Gardens will travel June 28 through July 1 to four of our community partner venues for free performances in South Bay, Lemon Grove, Otay Mesa, and Oceanside. New York Classical Theatre's ROMEO AND JULIET Moves To Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City For 'Take A Seat' Week

After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. Cast Announced for World Premiere of HURRICANE DAMAGE

Casting is complete for HURRICANE DAMAGE, a world-premiere dramedy by the New York-based playwright Kevin Brofsky that will be the fourth entry in Pride Films and Plays' five-show PAC Pride Fest. HURRICANE DAMAGE, opening on August 3 after previews on August 1 and 2, concerns two long-time partners, veterans of the 1970's gay scene in New York, living on Florida's Gulf Coast. Dennis and Oscar are visited by an old friend of those days, a photographer named Norman who has remained single and brings back bittersweet memories of their glory days in Manhattan.  The couple will be played by company member Charles A. Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Following critical acclaim, and a sold-out run at the Young Vic, producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Tom Kirdahy and Hunter Arnold are delighted to announce the full cast for the West End transfer of Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson's The Jungle, a National Theatre and Young Vic co-production with Good Chance Theatre,directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin. The production is set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp, the Calais Jungle, which in 2015, became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people.  Previewing from 16 June, with World Refugee Day on 20 June, The Jungle will have an Opening Night on 5 July at the Playhouse Theatre, with rehearsal photography released today. Full Cast Announced For Sheffield Theatres' Christmas Musical KISS ME, KATE

Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres, Robert Hastie, today announces the full cast for Paul Foster's major revival of Kiss Me, Kate. Foster directs Delroy Atkinson (Gangster 1), Edward Baker-Duly (Fred), Cindy Belliot (Hattie), John Conroy (Baptista), Dafydd Emyr (Harrison Howell), Dex Lee (Bill), Rebecca Lock (Lilli), Ross McLaren (Gremio), Joel Montague (Gangster 2), Adam Rhys-Charles (Hortensio), Amy Ellen Richardson (Lois), Matthew Whennell-Clark (Ralph) and Layton Williams (Paul), with Jessica Buckby, Ronan Burns, Louis Gaunt, Ruby Greenwood, Tash Holway (also Assistant Choreographer and Dance Captain), Jennifer Louise Jones, Bobbie Little, Emmanuele N'Zuzi, Simon Oskarsson and Clancy Ryan. AFTERGLOW Announces Pay What You Wish Ticketing for Next Three Weeks

Midsommer Flight's seventh summer of free Shakespeare performances as an Arts Partner in Chicago Park District parks began on Saturday, July 7 in Lincoln Park with THE Two Gentlemen of Verona. The company's production of Shakespeare's comedy will play two weekends each in four different Chicago parks - through Sunday August 26. The next venue for THE Two Gentlemen of Verona will be Gross Park, 2708 W. Lawrence Ave., where it will play July 14 and 15 and 21 and 22.
