For his opening salvo as Magic Theatre’s newly appointed Artistic Director, Sean San José has decided to throw a party. On Thursday, August 5th, Magic will present its 2021 gala 'The New Age of Magic' outdoors at Fort Mason. San José strongly believes theater should be for everyone, not just people of means, so Magic is hosting a more egalitarian event with ticket prices starting at a very reasonable $25. Mainly, though, the goal is to bring people together to kick back and have some fun.

Paula Poundstone, whose razor-sharp improv skills have delighted comedy audiences for nearly 40 years, brings her acclaimed one-woman show to the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts on October 21.

Cherry Lane Theatre, the oldest continuously running Off-Broadway theatre in New York City, has a new owner, it has been announced by Angelina Fiordellisi, the theatre’s Executive Director since having acquired the building in 1996.  Cherry Lane is located at 38 Commerce Street in Greenwich Village.

The musical runs June 16-20 at the Century II Convention Hall, with excellent socially distanced seating. The story is simple, the characters are timeless archetypes, the message is positive, and the artistic value is high despite the impositions of strict COVID19 restrictions.

The Hangar's opening performance of The REALNESS: another break beat play by Idris Goodwin will begin June 18th at 7:30 PM, kicking off the Hangar's 2021 Outdoor Mainstage season! A preview performance will precede opening, on June 17 at 7:30 P.M. Matinee and evening performances will run through Saturday, June 26.

The 2021 Theatre Aspen summer season lineup has been announced. The 38th season, running from June 30 – August 31, will include two musicals, Chicago and Rock of Ages, the return of the organization’s developmental one-person show festival, Solo Flights, and multiple special events, as well as three Theatre Aspen Education productions.
