Director of Soho Estates Fawn James and Artistic Director Rachel Edwards together announce the opening programme for the Boulevard as the newly-reimagined venue opens its doors to the public for the first time in October 2019. The first show will be the London premiere of Dave Malloy's celebrated song cycle Ghost Quartet brought to life by the team behind the recent hit production of Sweeney Todd which won great acclaim in London and New York. Ghost Quartet will run alongside a packed roster of late-night and Sunday performances of cabaret, improv, jazz, comedy, classical music and poetry. The Boulevard Theatre's 2020 season will be announced in September.

The American Film Institute (AFI), in partnership with AGBO Films, has announced Angela Chen (AFI Class of 2018) as the recipient of the inaugural AGBO/AFI Conservatory Development Grant. This new program awards $25,000 to a recent AFI Conservatory graduate to develop at least one project, with year-long mentorship from AGBO. Chen will receive the grant for her project TRIAD OF US, which tells the story of a broken Chinese immigrant family and their first-generation children in America. Told from multiple perspectives and based on true events, the story finds the young daughter unveiling dark family secrets as an assassination is executed and a sting operation is underway.

Worthing Theatres have announced their latest Jazz Cafe season at the Pavilion Cafe Bar, which runs from 24 July to 18 December. The Utah Symphony today announced the lineup for the 2019 summer community concert series in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, several of which feature outdoor venues and free performances. The schedule includes orchestra performances in Layton on June 17, Gallivan Center on Monday June 24, Thanksgiving Point on June 26, Taylorsville Dayzz on June 27, Utah Cultural Celebration Center on July 1, Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre on July 2, and Snowbasin on July 3. The final summer concert is in commemoration of Zion National Park's 100th anniversary, with a special performance of the orchestra with Sting on Aug. 31, 2019. No tickets are required for the Gallivan Center and Utah Cultural Celebration Center performances, which are free to the public. Tickets for the other performances are on sale now with ticketing information available at www.utahsymphony.org.

Universal Pictures will premiere the restored version of Hell Bent (1918) at the 2019 San Francisco Silent Film Festival. The early John Ford western will screen on Saturday, May 4 at noon at the Castro Theatre, with musical accompaniment by Philip Carli.

Hailed as a dream team of performers, longtime musical collaborators and friends, violinist Joshua Bell, cellist Steven Isserlis and pianist Jeremy Denk, will unite this spring 2019 for their first-ever trio tour stoping at The Soraya on May 8. The three artists will perform hallmarks of the trio repertoire in acclaimed venues across the East and West coasts. Though Bell, Isserlis and Denk have previously released the landmark 2016 recording For the Love of Brahms together on Sony Classical, these performances mark the first occasions in which they will tour live as an ensemble. The Brahms album has been praised as Absolutely essential listening for the classical fan well-crafted, flawless killer stuff.

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul have released a new song, 'A World Of Our Own,' from their forthcoming album Summer Of Sorcery due May 3 on Wicked Cool/UMe. The soulful, euphoric track, which premiered via Billboard yesterday who described it as having 'a shimmering Phil Spector quality,' conjures up visions of young love, summer nights and a simpler era when Girl Groups dominated the airwaves. 'Growing up, The Shirelles, The Chiffons, The Ronettes, The Crystals and The Shangri-Las were really important to me,' says Little Steven aka Steven Van Zandt. 'This song is my take on the type of song I might have written for a Girl Group like one of those fantastic acts back in the day.'

The private event will be hosted by BMI President and CEO Mike O'Neill and Vice President Worldwide Creative Barbara Cane and will take place on Tuesday, May 14th at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. 

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul have announced the release of their eagerly awaited new album. SUMMER OF SORCERY, the legendary rock 'n' rollers first album of new material, arrives May 3 via Wicked Cool/UMe. SUMMER OF SORCERY is available for pre-order now. The album will be released on CD, digitally and on vinyl as double LP on 180-gram black vinyl. In conjunction with the new album, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will bring his band to the State Theatre on Friday, July 26th.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia presents the singular stylings of Anoushka Shankar on April 27, 2019, at 8pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Divine sitar player, acclaimed composer, and one of contemporary India's cultural gems, the award- winning artist will perform songs from her brand-new compilation album Reflections - which draws on classical ragas as well as contemporary cross-cultural pieces that showcase the versatility of the sitar across musical genres. Shankar will be joined on stage by exceptionally gifted instrumentalists Ojas Adhiya (tabla), Pirashanna Thevarajah (mridangam), Ravichandra Kulur (flute), Danny Keane (cello and piano), and Kenji Ota (tanpura).
