Global backpack and accessories brand, Sprayground, has announced its latest collaboration with Grammy-winning Dutch DJ and music executive Afrojack, to develop a music and fashion inspired lifestyle bag with practical functionality called “Afroshark.” 

Sting's acclaimed musical, THE LAST SHIP, starring and featuring original music and lyrics by multiple Grammy Award-winner Sting, will make its premiere in Detroit at the Detroit Opera House, April 22-26, 2020, as part of an international Tour. THE LAST SHIP will also have engagements in Los Angeles at Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre; San Francisco at SHN's Golden Gate Theatre; Washington D.C. at the National Theatre; and in St. Paul, MN at the Ordway.

The American Film Institute (AFI), in partnership with AGBO Films, has announced Angela Chen (AFI Class of 2018) as the recipient of the inaugural AGBO/AFI Conservatory Development Grant. This new program awards $25,000 to a recent AFI Conservatory graduate to develop at least one project, with year-long mentorship from AGBO. Chen will receive the grant for her project TRIAD OF US, which tells the story of a broken Chinese immigrant family and their first-generation children in America. Told from multiple perspectives and based on true events, the story finds the young daughter unveiling dark family secrets as an assassination is executed and a sting operation is underway.

The Utah Symphony today announced the lineup for the 2019 summer community concert series in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, several of which feature outdoor venues and free performances. The schedule includes orchestra performances in Layton on June 17, Gallivan Center on Monday June 24, Thanksgiving Point on June 26, Taylorsville Dayzz on June 27, Utah Cultural Celebration Center on July 1, Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre on July 2, and Snowbasin on July 3. The final summer concert is in commemoration of Zion National Park's 100th anniversary, with a special performance of the orchestra with Sting on Aug. 31, 2019. No tickets are required for the Gallivan Center and Utah Cultural Celebration Center performances, which are free to the public. Tickets for the other performances are on sale now with ticketing information available at www.utahsymphony.org.

Hailed as a dream team of performers, longtime musical collaborators and friends, violinist Joshua Bell, cellist Steven Isserlis and pianist Jeremy Denk, will unite this spring 2019 for their first-ever trio tour stoping at The Soraya on May 8. The three artists will perform hallmarks of the trio repertoire in acclaimed venues across the East and West coasts. Though Bell, Isserlis and Denk have previously released the landmark 2016 recording For the Love of Brahms together on Sony Classical, these performances mark the first occasions in which they will tour live as an ensemble. The Brahms album has been praised as Absolutely essential listening for the classical fan well-crafted, flawless killer stuff.

Resonance Records discovery Polly Gibbons, a British-born star on the rise, has a sound and style that give off sparks. Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul have released a new song, 'A World Of Our Own,' from their forthcoming album Summer Of Sorcery due May 3 on Wicked Cool/UMe. The soulful, euphoric track, which premiered via Billboard yesterday who described it as having 'a shimmering Phil Spector quality,' conjures up visions of young love, summer nights and a simpler era when Girl Groups dominated the airwaves. 'Growing up, The Shirelles, The Chiffons, The Ronettes, The Crystals and The Shangri-Las were really important to me,' says Little Steven aka Steven Van Zandt. 'This song is my take on the type of song I might have written for a Girl Group like one of those fantastic acts back in the day.'
