The San Diego Symphony has announced its complete lineup for its Jazz @ The Jacobs and City Lights series for the 2018-19 season. Back for its fourth year, the successful Jazz @ The Jacobs returns with Gilbert Castellanos continuing in his role as series curator. From October through April, the five-concert series features a new and exciting lineup of programs and guest artists. The popular City Lights series also returns bringing the best of Broadway musicals and the American Songbook to San Diego in four exciting concerts.

When a romance blossoms between rising comic Mickey and firebrand actress Natalie, they face being blacklisted along with their friends and fellow artists. Rafael Payare's highly anticipated inaugural concerts as San Diego Symphony's Music Director Designate take place as part of the annual January Festival. It will mark his only Jacobs Masterworks appearance this season and will feature acclaimed cellist Alisa Weilerstein and the orchestra's first-ever performance of Benjamin Britten's Symphony for Cello and Orchestra. He will also perform in a special Discovery Night concert on January 10, with all funds from this concert going to support the San Diego Symphony's Learning and Community Engagement programs.

California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) Musical Theatre, Acting and Integrated Arts students in grades seven through 11 collaborate with Broadway actor and singer David Burnham for the school's first-ever "Performing with the Pros" event. Burnham has been an artist-in-residence at the school for several weeks helping to direct, create and rehearse the show. Best known for originating the role of Fiyero in the popular musical "Wicked," Burnham was also an original cast member in "The Light in the Piazza," performing both on the Tony Awards and the PBS telecast "Live From Lincoln Center." He replaced Donny Osmond as Joseph in the national tour of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Acclaimed for his "dazzling singing" and "infectious energy" (The Hollywood Reporter), Burnham also performs solo and with symphonies across the nation.
