Theatre for a New Audience presents About Alice, the world premiere of a new play by Calvin Trillin, inspired by his 2007 memoir of the same name. The production, directed by Leonard Foglia, plays January 8-February 3, 2019 at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn).

The stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, began previews on October 6th and opened October 13th.

Due to popular demand, Joan Baez will extend her worldwide “Fare Thee Well” 2018 tour into 2019 including a newly confirmed show at Selma, AL's historic Walton Theatre on April 9. This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

American Bard Theater Company presents the New York City premiere of You Wouldn't Expect, a play written by Marilynn Barner Anselmi examining the staggering truths about the coercive influence of the government-sponsored eugenics program and its direct focus on poverty and race. Cezar Williams directs a cast of eight, including Cherie Danielle, Adiagha Faizah, Carl Fisk, Erin Gilbreth*, Ross G. Hewitt, Malikha Mallette, Okema T Moore*, and Atiya Yanique Taylor. Fifteen performances will be staged at The Chain Theater, 312 West 36th Street in New York City, from September 19-October 7, 2018.

Another Halloween season is upon us and that means another round of horror films. With the success of the 2017 reboot 'It' and the much anticipated return of 'Halloween' next month, a new wave of slasher films is imminent. Today, Entangled Entertainment and Hourglass Pictures announced details for their forthcoming horror slasher 'A PSYCHO'S PATH,' with Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson ('The A-Team,' 'Midnight Meat Train,') as the villainous killing machine. The film also features Noel Guglielmi ('The Fast & The Furious' franchise,' 'The Purge: Anarchy'), and Todd Bridges ('Diff'rent Strokes, 'Everybody Hates Chris,') among some other familiar faces.
