Bryant Park Picnic Performances are still warming up with three newly announced free concerts spotlighting new and established voices in the fields of jazz, classical and global pop. On September 9, Jazz at Lincoln Center will bring a rising star in the jazz world to Bryant Park: the 20 year old trumpeter Summer Camargo, playing with her Sextet.

Atlantic Theater Company will present First Gen MixFest, a series of free readings co-produced by playwrights Ngozi Anyanwu and Sanaz Toossi, that will run at Atlantic’s Linda Gross Theater from Monday, August 8th through Wednesday, August 17th, 2022. 

Embracing people everywhere in the city that is its home, the Ailey organization will present Ailey Moves NYC! a summer celebration with free outdoor events throughout all five boroughs, July 23 – August 1, 2022.

PEN America marks a century of work at the forefront of the ever-urgent fight for free expression with PEN America at 100: A Century of Defending the Written Word, which presents letters, photographs, posters, awards, and other artifacts dating from 1922 to the present.

Bryant Park Picnic Performances will continue on July 28 with an Ailey Extension dance class and performance from Ailey II, the celebrated second company to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

The Boston Pops has announced details for the 2022 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, which returns to the stage of the Hatch Shell at the Charles River Esplanade for the first time since 2019. The performance will take place on Monday, July 4, 8-11 p.m.

 Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will return to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ David H. Koch Theater June 15-19, 2022, for a six- performance engagement that caps a decade of Artistic Director Robert Battle’s leadership.
