Victory Gardens Theater announces Tanuja Jagernauth as the 2019 Marcelle McVay Management Fellow for 2019. Victory Gardens Next Generation Fellowships provide comprehensive mentorship, requisite training, and experience for these future leaders of color, preparing them to helm arts institutions or departments on the national and local level. The 2019 Macelle McVay Management Fellowship is made possible by support from the Weiss Grosshandler Charitable Fund.

The Eighth Annual Bickford Benefit Concert featuring an all-star ensemble of outstanding jazz artists from the Tri-State area comes to the Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum for one night only on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 7:30 PM. The ensemble includes trumpeter/vocalist Bria Skonberg, cornetist Warren Vache, trombonist Mariel Bildsten, clarinetist Dan Levinson, pianist Rossano Sportiello, guitarist/vocalist Molly Ryan, bassist Rob Adkins, and drummer Mark McLean.  All of the ticket sales from this concert will go to support programming at the Bickford Theatre.

As part of the "Ailey Ascending" 60th Anniversary celebration, the Choreography Unlocked Festival of performance, conversation, and master classes will take place at Ailey's home across two weekends - October 12 - 14 & 26- 28. Building on the success of the New Directions Choreography Lab, created by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Artistic Director Robert Battle in 2011, the festival will elevate The Joan Weill Center for Dance's role in the community as a hub for creating and presenting new work and fostering the next generation of choreographers.

The Broad today announced the lineup for the third edition of Summer Happenings at The Broad, a music and performance series sponsored by Leading Partner East West Bank. Stanislav Ioudenitch, Artistic Director of Park International Center for Music (Park ICM), announced today that their 2018-2019 season would kick off in September with a new performance home, the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kansas. "For the first time, we will perform our entire season at the 1900 Building as we adore performing in their wonderful spaces," said Ioudenitch. "Now between their two fabulous concert halls and their delicious restaurant, classical music lovers can have a full evening of fine wines and food, and cap it off with our world-class musicians! We are two hidden jewels just now being discovered in the Kansas City arts public."

Artistic Director Chay Yew and Managing Director Erica Daniels announce Victory Gardens Theater's Public Programs line-up in conjunction with Mies Julie, written by Yael Farber, directed by Dexter Bullard, and adapted from August Strindberg's Miss Julie. Mies Julie runs May 25 - June 24, 2018, with the press performance on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 7:30pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

This weekend, Creative Time, The Fortune Society, artist Phil Collins, and over 100 collaborators hosted the second weekend of Bring Down The Walls.

The Artistic Home Ensemble will present the Chicago premiere of Lauren Gunderson's ADA AND THE ENGINE as the final entry in its three-play 2018-19 season, according to company Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra, who announced the season today. The 36-year-old Gunderson was the most-produced playwright in America during 2017, according to American Theatre Magazine.

Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to Seattle's Paramount Theatre with three performances April 27-29, 2018. The Company will perform two Seattle premieres and a total of five works by a wide range of choreographers. Alvin Ailey's timeless and inspiring American masterpiece Revelations will provide the finale for all three programs, which will take place at 8pm on April 27-28 and at 2pm on April 29.

Creative Time, in partnership with The Fortune Society, is proud to announce Bring Down The Walls, a three-part public art project with artist Phil Collins in collaboration with over 100 individuals and organizations located at Firehouse, Engine Company 31, a historic, decommissioned fire station. Bring Down The Walls will be free and open to the public each weekend in May.

 The Hollywood Fringe Festival is proud to announce the winners of the 2018 Fringe Scholarships. An objective and independent committee of former Hollywood Fringe participants and local arts professionals reviewed more than 125 applications for this award. The applications were evaluated based on the production's potential to increase the ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of artists and audience and how much impact the production would have on the overall attraction of audience.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, celebrates the continuation of the Rolling World Premiere Project Dawn by Karen Hartman at Unicorn Theatre. The play will receive a total of three distinct NNPN RWP productions, rolling through Associate Member People's Light (Malvern, PA; June 7-July 9, 2017), and Core Members Horizon Theatre Company (Atlanta, GA; September 22-October 29, 2017), and Unicorn Theatre (Kansas City, MO; January 27-Feburary 18, 2018). Project Dawn is NNPN's 72nd Rolling World Premiere.

Playwright Karen Hartman explores the thin line that separates freedom from incarceration, inside the real life Project Dawn Court in Philadelphia, PA.

Following a five-week season launch in New York City, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will continue to grace stages from coast to coast, arriving at Jacksonville's Times-Union Center on February 20, 2018 for one performance only.

Performance Space New York (formerly Performance Space 122) presents the East Village Series, its first semi-annual themed series, and the first program curated by the institution's new Executive Artistic Director, Jenny Schlenzka. This presentation of works from some of today's most radical performers and multidisciplinary artists resituates the institution in newly revamped spaces, designed by Deborah Berke Partners, in 122 Community Center (150 First Avenue, at East 9th Street), where Performance Space 122 was founded, and where it operated until it moved out in 2011 for the building renovation.
