This week, Through our Women in Theatre Through the Decades features, we are be highlighting the impact of women in theatre such as Sutton Foster, Kelli O'Hara, Kathleen Marshall, Lynn Nottage and more!

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Earlier this year, on April 22, The Phantom of the Opera, reached a milestone that no other Broadway show has even come near. The Arts and Education Council has announced seven honorees for the 2020 St. Louis Arts Awards. Now in its 29th year, the event honors individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the St. Louis region's arts community.

Casting has been confirmed for the 69th Broadway At Music Circus season, which begins June 11 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The season includes four Broadway At Music Circus premieres, Shrek the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wiz, and In the Heights.

The 2019 Tony nominees are already winners... literally. For some, this marks their first nomination, but others have already won Tony Awards in seasons past. We took a look at which nominees have won at least a Tony or two (or nine) - amongst them, they've gathered a total of 69 awards!

At the 2007 Tonys, Bob Martin, a 2019 nominee for his book for The Prom, took home the award for Best Book for the hilarious new musical The Drowsy Chaperone.
