The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced the selection of five Honorees who will receive the 46th Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements. Learn more about the honorees here!

Renowned clarinetist Thomas Piercy will be showcasing the remarkable compositions of women artists in a special program of music by members of the New York Women Composers (NYWC) organization. The highly anticipated event will take place on June 27 at the National Opera Center's Scorca Hall. Piercy will be joined on stage with cellist Daniel Hass and pianist Tengku Irfan, promising an evening of musical excellence and diversity.

This summer, Canadian Stage celebrates 40 magical years of Dream in High Park by bringing back one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.  The first play ever presented in the High Park amphitheatre in 1983, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM has long been associated with the time-held tradition of Shakespeare under the stars.

The New York Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, has announced the nominees for the 2023 Bessie Awards. This year's Bessie Awards ceremony will be held on Friday, August 4, at 7:30pm, at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park as part of Lincoln Center's Summer for the City. It was a like coming home with Chita Rivera full circle and approaching a kind of comfortable closure when I attended the Signature Theatre’s Sondheim Award Gala 2023 honoring the Broadway legend Chita Rivera at the Italian Embassy in Washington. DC.  The iconic legend of theatrical music and dance (What a dancer she is!) was feted with the prestigious award from Signature Theatre and a warm response from a very “Chita-friendly” roster of performers and an audience of patrons, fans and supporters. (Rivera has also won about every award in the book including two Tony Awards, a special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Kennedy Center Honor).
