The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of four Honorees who will receive the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements, and a special Honors distinction for a work of art and its co-creators. Recipients to be honored at the 41st annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and actress Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton-writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire-will receive a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category.

Grab your sunscreen and head down south for the Chillin' on the Lucie music festival in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Oct. 3 - 7. Headlining will be country icon, Wynonna, with her band The Big Noise, and hit-maker Joe Nichols, with two more to be announced. RaeLynn, Thompson Square, Craig Campbell, Restless Heart, Love and Theft, Trent Tomlinson, Scooter Brown Band and Southern Halo are also scheduled to perform at the festival, with more acts to be announced. The Guthrie Theater announced that Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein has been elected as president of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT), the largest professional theater association of its kind in the United States, boasting 72 member Theatres in 29 states and the District of Columbia. Bielstein succeeds Timothy J. Shields, the managing director of McCarter Theatre Center, and began her three-year term in May 2017.

The Old Vic today announces casting for Queers, a series of eight monologues curated by Mark Gatiss. Staged on 28 and 31 July at The Old Vic, they mark 50 years since the Sexual Offences Act of 1967 began the decriminalisation process for homosexuality between men. Queers celebrates some of the most poignant, funny, tragic and riotous moments of British gay male history over the last century. 

Windy City Playhouse (3014 W. Irving Park Road) announces the complete casting for Gina Gionfriddo's "Becky Shaw," the dark, "ferociously funny" (The New York Times) comedy. Jeff Award winner Scott Weinstein directs the final production in Windy City Playhouse's third season, starring Theo Allyn ("The Matchmaker" at Goodman Theatre) in the title role as Becky Shaw.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, June 26 at 10:00am ET for SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway at The Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway - Broadway at 47th Street). Preview performances begin Monday, November 6th with an official opening on Monday, December 4th.
