One of the most celebrated musicals of all time, the original West End and Broadway production of EVITA, directed by Hal Prince, will return to Australia from 13 September this year, playing at the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the Sydney Opera House. The Country Network, a music video TV network for dedicated country fans, will be premiering the music video for Caleche's hot new single 'Get Down' this coming Monday, May 7. The LA-based “West Coast Cowgirl” partnered with Wicked Tango Whiskey and Nitro Citrus to create a vibrant party of video for this weekend anthem. The video was shot by videographer Jeff Kelly, known for working with artists like Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez, and directed by Izak Rappaport, who has acquired clients such as Ashley Benson and Nylon Magazine. Along with Marchael Bayne, Theatre in the Park, and ABC 11, DPAC hosted this year's Triangle Rising Stars Awards onstage on Tuesday evening, May 15.  The Triangle Rising Star Awards (TRS) is a program that brings together area high school musical theater students to perform together and compete against one another for educational scholarships. Last year's winners, Kaylee Terrell and Nicholas Kraft, presented the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor, while awards were also given for Best Ensemble and Best Musical. (more...)

On Sunday, June 17th, ECHO Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Canosa, will present its final concert of the 2017/2018 season, 'Nostalgia.' The pieces presented in this concert not only embrace ECHO's ability to collaborate, but transcend the composers' origins of influence and inspiration as ECHO presents them in an intimate chamber setting. The audience will be transported to the Czech Republic with Antonin Dvorak's Czech Suite in D Major, a five-movement work based on Czech folk dances. America is next with The Long Way, by Kevin Gordon, a San Francisco-based composer and bassist.
