TheaterWorks Hartford, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, has announced details for its upcoming 2022–2023 season which is filled with great music, captivating stories, and world-class writing.

Birdland Jazz Club will present a special evening with renowned pianist and singer Billy Stritch and award-winning jazz vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli on Monday, September 19 at 7:00 PM.

In the 1970s the biggest comedy show on television was ITV’s The Comedians. And the breakout star, the one who shone brightest of all… was Charlie. Eh Up Me Old Flowers is written by Chris England, whose stage writing includes two plays that began life at the Edinburgh Fringe. The play will run at Edinburgh Fringe from 8-29 August.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere musical, Goddess. The musical stage production is conceived and directed by Saheem Ali, music and lyrics by Michael Thurber, and written by Jocelyn Bioh. Previews begin Saturday, August 13, and the show runs through Sunday, September 25.

The exuberant new musical Sing Street, based on the hit 2016 indie film of the same title, will be playing at The Huntington’s Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA from August 26 to October 2, 2022. Check out rehearsal photos here!

Writers Theatre will conclude its 2021/22 Season with Pearl’s Rollin’ with the Blues: A Night with Felicia P.
