TheaterWorks Hartford, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, has announced details for its upcoming 2022–2023 season which is filled with great music, captivating stories, and world-class writing.

The award-winning, hit show Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical, has announced the complete cast and creative team for the Off-Broadway return this fall. Playhouse 46 at St. Luke’s will be transported into satirized versions of Hawkins, Indiana, and the Upside Down, with performances set to begin on Monday, September 12th.

Garland Civic Theatre will present the musical Carnival! by Bob Merrill, Michael Stewart, Helen Deutsch & Gower Champion at Granville Arts Center September 9-25, 2022.

The New York Pops has announced artist and programming updates for its 40th anniversary season with concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Heather Headley replacing Adrienne Warren, will now be featured in a solo concert with The New York Pops on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 8:00 p.m.

The American Theatre Critics Association and Foundation ATCA have announced the first recipient of the ATCA Helbing fellowship for LGBTQ+ theater writers. Members of the Helbing Committee selected journalist Billy McEntee of New York City for the program that will begin September 1, 2022 and run for a year. It carries a stipend of $5,000.

Out of the Box Theatrics announced they will produce the first Off-Broadway revival of the critically acclaimed musical, Floyd Collins. The production, to be directed by Christina Sajous (Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, American Idiot; Out of the Box Theatrics’ 2019 production of Baby), will play from November 11 through December 18, 2022.

The Joyce Theater Foundation will close a landmark season of dance with the athleticism and artistry of The Sarasota Ballet. Under the Directorship of Iain Webb, the company’s triple bill, featuring hallmark works by Frederick Ashton and a world premiere from Jessica Lang, will play The Joyce Theater from August 16-21.

Adrian Edmondson will play Ebenezer Scrooge in the Royal Shakespeare Company's revival of David Edgar's adaptation of Dickens' much-loved classic story A Christmas Carol.  The production, directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, runs in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon between 26 October 2022 – 1 January 2023.
