The sophistication, wit, heart and genius of Broadway's most innovative and influential artist is at the center of this tribute to composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim. This dazzling array of some of Sondheim's best-known songs features numbers from shows that revolutionized musical theatre, including songs from Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

2013 marked Det Norske Teatret's 100th anniversary. To celebrate this occasion the theatre put on a rather intimate production named 'Musikalar i 100' with a small cast presenting moments from their past achievements. The cast included performers such as Hedi Ruud Ellingsen, Heidi Gjermundsen Broch, Gjertrud Jynge, Paul Åge Johannessen and Frank Kjosås. Cameron Mackintosh today announces he is delighted that in honour of Stephen Sondheim's 90th birthday next March, the Queen's Theatre will be renamed the Sondheim Theatre, making him the only living artist to have a theatre named in his honour both in the West End and on Broadway. Following the renovation of wartime bomb damage and a major restoration of the auditorium and the complete backstage, the newly named Sondheim Theatre will continue as the home of world's longest running musical Les Miserables as it enters its 35th year.
