Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop) just announced the New York premiere of THE GARDENS OF ANUNCIA, directed and co-choreographed by Graciela Daniele, with book, music, and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa. 

MasterVoices has announced details of the celebrated chorus’ 82nd season, celebrating the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941.

A skillful songwriter, Menzel's prolific recording career includes multiple cast albums and the solo albums: 'Still I Can't Be Still,' 'Here, I Stand,' and her last album, 'idina.,' which was released in September 2016.

MasterVoices will conclude its 2022-23 season on May 3 at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium with a concert staging of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera Iolanthe, directed and conducted by Ted Sperling.

 Island City Stage, in co-production with Out Front Theatre Company in Atlanta, will present the South Florida debut of I Wanna F*#%ing Tear You Apart by Morgan Gould, from March 2 – April 2. Bring your bestie to see this new limited show that tackles love, friendship and jealousy with a touch of snark.

MasterVoices continues its eclectic 2022-23 season on March 23 at Central Synagogue with Ted Sperling leading O How Good, a performance of Jewish sacred music. The program includes two beloved works of traditional Jewish liturgy set by master composers – Ernest Bloch's Sacred Service and Kurt Weill's Kiddush – as well as the world premiere of And the Sun Goes Up, a new work by Israeli-American composer Daniel Rein, commissioned by MasterVoices.

The documentary, titled Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage?, will showacse the Tony winner's life and career leading up to her headlining concert at Madison Square Garden after a national tour. It will feature footage of Menzel onstage in Wicked and Rent, alongside interviews with her family, friends, co-stars, and creative collaborators.

In a video clip post from backstage at The Tonight Show, Idina Menzel put her own Wicked spin on the She-Hulk filter. Menzel is seen snapping her fingers and instantly turning green, something she is no stranger to, before belting out a bit of 'Defying Gravity' from the musical, in which she originated the role of Elphaba.

Original Elphaba Idina Menzel has revealed the advice that she gave to Cynthia Erivo, who will be playing the role in the upcoming two-part film adaption of Wicked. Erivo will be joined by Ariana Grande as Glinda and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero in the upcoming film, helmed by In the Heights director Jon M. Chu.

Daniel Henning, the Founding Artistic Director of The Blank Theatre in Hollywood, is stepping down after 32 years, effective October 8, 2022. Henning founded The Blank Theatre in 1990.

The Kleban Foundation is celebrating the 32nd anniversary of the annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre with the announcement of the 2022 prizewinners. The Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to César Alvarez (they/them).

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the tenth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a four-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written by emerging artists. The Reading Series will feature new works by Liz Appel, Noah Diaz, Daria Miyeko Marinelli and York Walker. Today’s subject Matthew Gardiner is a prime example of someone living their theatre life to the fullest. While he has directed and choreographed all over town and in Korea as well, by far the bulk of his career has been working at Signature Theatre. Since coming there in 2004, Matthew has either choreographed and or directed some of Signature’s most memorable productions while also serving as the company’s Associate Artistic Director since 2011.
