New docu-series “1969” weaves together rarely told stories of the moon landing, Manson murders, Chappaquiddick scandal and Woodstock with that of Nixon's first year in office, John Lennon's Bed-Ins for Peace, FBI shootouts with black activists and the Stonewall Uprising. YALE REPERTORY THEATRE the multiple Tony Award-winning theatre dedicated to the production of new plays and bold interpretations of classic works, has announced its 2019-20 Season.

In the ramp-up to Wishbone Ash's 50th anniversary, the band is celebrating its 49th year in characteristic fashion: with an extended tour. Dubbed XLIX (49 in Roman numerals), the tour began in October 2018 in the UK, followed by early-2019 dates in Europe and Japan. This spring, XLIX arrives on these shores.

On March 30th, The Museum at Bethel Woods, located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, will open for the 2019 season and mark the 50th Anniversary with the Special Exhibit We Are Golden: Reflections on the 50th Anniversary of The Woodstock Festival & Aspirations for a Peaceful Future, part of A Season of Song and Celebration. This exhibit examines the desires of the youth of 1969, places the legendary festival within the context of the positive societal changes it inspired and asks today's youth what THEY are asking of the world now.

Gareth Machin, Artistic Director of Wiltshire Creative, and Guest Festival Director Jonathan Dove today announce the programme for the 2019 Salisbury International Arts Festival (24 May to 9 June) which will mark two global anniversaries - the 1969 moon landings and the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall - with an ambitious mix of music, spoken word, film, dance, circus, theatre, comedy and family events.

In 1969 hundreds of thousands of young people from across the country gathered on Max Yasgur's farm in Bethel, New York, and left as a community inspired to change the world through peace and love. Fifty years later, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts stands on that very spot, inspiring, educating and empowering a new generation through the transformative power of the arts.

The 60s are often remembered as a time of peace but the conflict experienced in that decade was immense. It was a time of loss of peaceful heroes, with icons such as Martin Luther King killed the previous year. As the Vietnam War raged in 1969, John and Yoko held their two, week-long bed-ins intended as a non violent protest against war and violence, and as experimental tests of new ways to promote peace.

On Today, January 25, 2019, NapaShakes celebrates the birthday of Scotland's Bard: Robert Burns, and the music, food and culture of Scotland, with its first ever Burns Night Supper. Guests will savor the words of Scotland's greatest poet (and a bit of Shakespeare's Macbeth) accompanied by bagpipes and a lively Ceilidh band, plus engaging performances by two acclaimed actors from Britain and Broadway: Jane Carr and Victor Talmadge. The evening includes a delicious Napa Valley-style feast with traditional haggis (meat or vegetarian), neeps and tatties, and other delights in the candle-lit Gallery of St. Helena's Brasswood Napa Valley. The event is for age 21 and older, and attendees are welcome (but not required) to wear kilts and other traditional attire.
