The board of directors of Dad's Garage announced that Jon Carr will be stepping into the Artistic Director role, starting February 1. Jon has been serving as the Interim Artistic Director since November 2019. Dad's Garage has a co-CEO model, with the Artistic Director in charge of the creative direction of the theatre, in close collaboration with the Managing Director, Lara Smith, who handles business operations.

Newnan Theatre Company will welcome the ladies (and gentlemen) of the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society once again! The ladies are bringing in their best show yet, when they present their production of Macbeth to NTC, opening February 6, 2020. Thelma Greenwood, Phoebe Reese, Felicity Hamilton-Smyth, Audrey Brees, and yes, the hapless Gordon Pugh are performing Macbeth for their entry into the Townswomen's Guild Drama Festival Area Finals, and their judge for the event, George Peach, will be on hand to push the ladies to their best effort.

Boston Baroque returns to Vivaldi's masterworks, The Four Seasons and Gloria in D, along with Monteverdi's Beatus Vir this March, featuring Concertmaster Christina Day Martinson and conducted by Music Director Martin Pearlman. Two performances of this program will take place at NEC's Jordan Halla?"the first, on Friday, March 27 at 8pm, and the second on Sunday, March 29 at 3pm. Pre-concert speaker Laury Gutiérrez, founding director of La Donna Musicale, will give a talk before both performances at 7pm and 2pm.

Whenever I take a trip across the Channel from France to England, seeing a show (or two or three) is always one of my top priorities. Unfortunately, tickets for shows on the West End (or even just around London in general) tend to be expensive and out of my price range, especially as a university student. But fortunately, I have found some tricks that enable me to see shows at relatively low prices. Today, I'm going to be discussing how to get tickets for West End shows for a student budget.

On the evening of Wednesday, January 15, San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) launched the public phase of its capital campaign to support the National LGBTQ Center for the Arts with a reception featuring remarks from Mayor London Breed, California State Senator Scott Wiener, Honorary Chair Sharon Stone, SFGMC Artistic Director Dr. Timothy Seelig, Campaign Chair Edward Sell, and SFGMC Executive Director Chris Verdugo. The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers has announced a plan to close to the public starting May 18 through August 31, 2020, to carry out structural renovations to the front entrance and terrace, as well as corresponding internal spaces. Museum programming, including Summer Art Camp, will be relocated to partner locations throughout the summer, with details to be announced in the spring. In addition, PaparazZi Café will be closed during this time. The Zimmerli will welcome back visitors at the start of the new Rutgers semester on September 1, 2020, keeping doors open until 9 p.m. for its popular Art After Hours: First Tuesdays social event.
