The Greek National Opera’s 2022-23 season curated by Artistic Director Giorgos Koumendakis will open with a newly commissioned opera, Andrei, by Greek composer Dimitra Trypani. Trypani describes the work as a “sound performance” and “sonic storytelling,” unfolding over eight scenes to create a contemporary funeral liturgy for Andrei Tarkovsky.

Deemed one of the '25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World' by MovieMaker Magazine in 2019, the Third Horizon Film Festival returns for its fifth edition. This year the festival will be hosted hybrid style with a thoughtfully curated mix of in-person and virtual screenings beginning June 24, 2021, through July 1, 2021, in Miami, Florida.

Singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel will return to the Café Carlyle for her seventh engagement, October 1-5. Joel, who recently exuded characteristic warmth, humor, and musicality in the 2018 documentary Always at the Carlyle, will sing a mix of original songs, Broadway numbers anda?"alwaysa?"a tune from her dad and one from Ray Charles. a?oePeople don't know this, but my middle name is after my dad's favorite singer, Ray Charles, so I always pay homage,a?? she explains.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others.  In 1962, fifty-seven years ago, the magnificent TONY BENNETT recorded "I Left My Heart in San Francisco."  The song was honored with two Grammy Awards, including "Record of the Year" and gave Tony a signature tune that, as he delights in saying, has made him "A Citizen of the World."  Last March, the classic was entered into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress as "an aural treasure worthy of preservation." Now in 2019, and about to turn an ageless 93, the legendary performer -  himself a world treasure - continues to leave his heart in each song that he sings and in every aspect of his life.

The LA Phil pays tribute to the experimental and deeply influential Fluxus movement of the 1960s and 1970s with a season-long program of performances and events at Walt Disney Concert Hall and venues throughout Los Angeles, beginning October 14, 2018. An international, anti-establishment movement whose practitioners included artists, composers, designers, and architects, as well as economists, mathematicians, ballet dancers, and others, Fluxus aimed to collapse what it considered the false wall between art and life by emphasizing artistic process over finished product. In a survey curated by American conductor and composer Christopher Rountree, in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute, the often-humorous, frequently challenging music and performances of Fluxus will be featured in a combination of concerts, symposia, and other live events, as well as surprise installations and performances throughout the 2018/19 Centennial season.

Mark Moraghan, Stephanie Dooley and Alan Stocks have been confirmed to join the cast of Lennon's Banjo, joining fellow actors Eric Potts, Jake Abraham, Lynn Francis and Roy Carruthers in a comedy play that is already making headlines around the world. Lennon's Banjo makes its world stage premiere at Liverpool's Epstein Theatre in April.

Belmont Ave. Tickets for Little Me are $35. Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announces a roster of upcoming shows confirmed, to date, for the 2016-2017 season.  These newly added performances will join the previously announced FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando season, resident companies Orlando Ballet and Orlando Philharmonic's seasons, as well as Maxwell, Alice Cooper, Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, among others.

Fallen Angel Theatre Company (Aedin Moloney, Producing Artistic Director) today announced their next production: the Off-Broadway Premiere of Sharman Macdonald's When I Was A Girl I Used To Scream and Shout, a bittersweet and bitingly funny examination of mother/daughter turmoil.
