The New Harmony Project, an organization dedicated to supporting writers interrogating the complexity of hope, has announced that they will continue in-person programming with their 35th annual spring conference in idyllic New Harmony, Indiana.

Cygnet Theatre is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for it's upcoming production of Mud Row by Tony-nominated playwright (Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations) and MacArthur Genius recipient Dominique Morisseau. Receiving its second-ever production since it's world premiere at People's Light in 2019, this beautiful and dynamic play is directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg and runs May 18 to June 19, 2022. Opening Night for media is Saturday, May 21.

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre today announced complete casting for its production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Sweat by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Lynn Nottage (MJ the Musical, The Secret Life of Bees). 

The Laboratory for Global Performance & Politics (The Lab) will present the return of The Gathering, a 4-day theater festival on Georgetown University's campus.

People’s Light will present Bayard Rustin Inside Ashland, the world premiere of a play with music inspired by the true story of West Chester, PA native Bayard Rustin. Chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington and openly gay Civil Rights activist, Bayard Rustin was nearly written out of the history books.

Rescheduled from its original dates in January, Dora Maar: the wicked one, presented by GAL Productions, with the generous support of Hit & Myth Productions, is now running from May 5 – 14, as part of One Yellow Rabbit's Spring Edition of the High Performance Rodeo.

Billy & The Dreamerz, a new original musical with book & music by Neil Coombs & Grace Kosaka, was recently selected to participate in the National Alliance of Musical Theatre (NAMT) Songwriters Showcase at NAMT’s first ever conference in Canada. The Showcase on March 24th, was presented by Musical Stage Company and Michael Rubinoff at Jazz Bistro. “It was very moving to see such an enthusiastic audience response and to collaborate with our American and Canadian colleagues” said Coombs.

Through the use of radiant tape hiss and degradation, guitar noise, frenetic vocal melodies and field recording samples, Cremation Lily creates a distinctive sensory experience.  At times ambient and atmospheric, at others meditative and euphoric, Dreams Drenched in Static floats back and forth from fantasy to reality.

EVOLUTION EMPIRE started in Dallas, Texas, where frontman Chris Roberts and drummer Rob Youells were introduced to each other by their mutual manager, Dave Chavarri (Ill Niño, Terror Universal). The outfit is rounded off by bringing in bassist Sal Dominguez (Ill Niño, ex-Upon A Burning Body) and lead guitarist Joe Dragich (Terror Universal).

Milwaukee's Free Shakespeare in the Park has announced its 2022 summer production will be Twelfth Night: Or, What SHE Will. Building upon the success of the company's 2021 first fully touring show, A Midsummer Night's Dream: The Lovers' Tale, this year's Twelfth Night will also be a touring production.
