Virginia Rep opens the toe-tapping musical Songs from the Soul on Friday, February 2nd at the Children's Theatre at Willow Lawn, the third show of the 2017-18 Children's Season. With book by Richmond native William Dye and music spanning genres and generations, this lively musical revue examines the evolution of African-American music - from gospel to motown to rap - and the essential role it has played in American life.
