The Kansas City Chamber Orchestra is pleased to announce their 33rd Season will continue on Wednesday, February 12th in the Stephen B. Metzler Hall at The Folly Theater, downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The magnificent Folly will be the perfect atmosphere for the Valentine program entitled a?oeEnchanted Strings,a?? featuring guest conductor Carolyn Watson with the baton. 

Segerstrom Center for the Arts proudly presents the World Premiere of American Ballet Theatre's Of Love and Rage, a new work choreographed by ABT Artist-in-Residence and MacArthur Genius Alexei Ratmansky. Sets and costumes are by award-winning designer Jean-Marc Puissant, with lighting by designer Duane Schuler. Inspired from the first century Greek novel, Callirhoe, the libretto for Of Love and Rage was adapted by actor, director, screenwriter and Molière Award winner Guillaume Gallienne. The ballet is set to music by Aram Khachaturian with arrangements by Philip Feeney and performed live by Pacific Symphony. There will be five performances: March 5 a?" 8, 2020 in Segerstrom Hall. The ballet will have its New York Premiere during ABT's 2020 Metropolitan Opera House season June 2 a?" 6.

Pianist Haochen Zhang will make his debut with the New York Philharmonic on January 28, 2020 at 7:30 PM in its Lunar New Year Concert and Gala, conducted by Maestro Long Yu. Shanghai-born Zhang launched into the international spotlight in 2009 after becoming one of the youngest Van Cliburn International Piano Competition gold medalists and has since also been awarded a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2017.

This coming January, world famous saxophone player, bandleader and producer Igor Butman will travel to the United States for a five-city tour of some of the country's most celebrated jazz institutions. 

Desert Ensemble Theatre Company's (DETC's) ninth season continues with the world premiere production of ADOPTION ROULETTE, by Elizabeth Fuller and Joel Vig. Shawn Abramowitz directs a three-person cast headed by Yo Younger. Adina Lawson and Fergus Loughnane each play multiple roles. The run begins on January 31st.

Her Piano Concerto is considered her first composition and demands the listener's ear with a pounding rhythmic motif that is repeated by the piano until the closing chord.

This coming January, world famous saxophone player, bandleader and producer Igor Butman will travel to the United States for a five-city tour of some of the country's most celebrated jazz institutions. The tour will mark the twentieth anniversary of Butman's acclaimed Moscow Jazz Orchestra, a 16-piece powerhouse ensemble described by DownBeat Magazine as 'an outfit of virtuosos.' Butman, a firm proponent of cross-border and cross genre-collaboration, has performed with a long roster of jazz greats including Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea, Lionel Hampton, Grover Washington Jr and Wynton Marsalis, among others. The jazz luminary continues his ambassadorship of modern Russian culture with his upcoming Winter tour of the United States. Butman, along with the Moscow Jazz Orchestra, will perform at the Blue Note, in New York City January 30th through February 2nd, at the Keystone Corner in Baltimore on February 5th, at the South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center on February 7th in Cutler Bay, Florida, at The Promontory in Hyde Park, Chicago, on February 9th, at Center Makor in Boston on February 12th, and at the Blue Llama in Ann Arbor, Michigan on February 13th.

On Sunday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m., beloved Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel returns to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage for a recital featuring works by Ireland, Quilter, Brahms, Schumann, Schubert, selections from Vaughan Williams's Songs of Travel as well as additional selections to be announced from the stage.
