This Spotlight focuses on John Wuchte, a talented actor/director/writer/composer and amazing Tribal Acting theater creator, who I first met during last year's Hollywood Fringe Festival when I attended his masterful musical production Scarlett Fever which told the true story of the great search to find an actress to portray Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind in 1939. The production utilized John's unique style of performance, which he calls Tribal Acting; a combination of movement, gesture, song and dance, all accompanied by live percussion. And I was hooked!

The Met's first cancellation due to coronavirus concerns was the revival of Rossini's LA CENERENTOLA, the opera retelling of the Cinderella story, set to star mezzo Tara Erraught in the title role and one of its biggest tenor stars, Javier Camarena as Don Ramiro, her prince. The opera holds a particular place in Camarena's history at the Met: It made him an overnight sensation when he was tapped to replace Juan Diego Florez and blew the roof off--a real-life Cinderella story.

Other Lives Release New Single 'Hey Hey I'

Other Lives are set to release their long-awaited new album For Their Love on ATO Records on April 24, and today the band shares their new single “Hey Hey I.” The track comes via a striking black-and-white video shot in the A-frame house studio in the Oregon mountains where the band recorded For Their Love. “The video is a reflection of the recording process of the album, that took place in the A-frame in the woods,” says frontman Jesse Tabish. “We wanted to portray this process in a natural, organic way, without telling a story but rather showing glimpses of us working together as well as coming together with friends.”

More than a decade after disbanding, New Jersey emo act Armor For Sleep is preparing to storm the stage once again in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their pivotal album, What To Do When You Are Dead. The summer tour will kick off on June 18th in Baltimore, with subsequent stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Nashville, and more. This group of artists explore music styles with roots in Mexico, Chile, Cuba, the afrolatino traditions of the Caribbean, and more.
