On Saturday, September 17 from 12PM to 4PM, Hartford Stage will open their doors to new and returning audiences to learn about the theatre's inner-workings and what it has in store for this season.

Grammy-award winning Phoenix Boys Choir (PBC) has announced the three prize-winning entries in its inaugural choral composition competition, New Works Rising. The winning compositions were selected from 92 submissions received from composers around the United States and the world.

Producer John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia has announced that the 70th Anniversary production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap will play in Adelaide for a limited season from 31 December at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

The cast for the 70th Anniversary Australian production of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap was revealed by producer John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia. Additional seasons for this acclaimed production have also been announced to follow the Premiere at Theatre Royal Sydney - in Brisbane at the Playhouse, QPAC from 3 November and at the Comedy Theatre, Melbourne from 17 February 2023.

Forestburgh Playhouse present the hilarious new musical, Something Rotten! at the historic Forestburgh Mainstage from August 2-14. Something Rotten! features music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick. The latter collaborated on the musical's book with John O'Farrell.

New York City Ballet will present its tenth annual Fall Fashion Gala on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 7pm at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. This year’s event will honor Sarah Jessica Parker, a vice chair of the NYCB Board of Directors, who conceived the Fall Fashion Gala in 2012.

The Space at Ironale will present Jean Genet’s richly sinister play, The Maids, August 18-21. Performed in the round overlooking a diorama-like stage, the timeless work originally premiered in Paris in 1947, tackles topical issues of social class, oppression, alienation, gender, and sexual identity.

One of Tennessee Williams’ most “devastating and glorious” dramas will pick up the second half of The Tennessee Williams Theatre Company’s sixth season with its production of SUMMER + SMOKE.

According to a poll taken in 2016, a little more than half of all British people have seen or read Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. That number dips just below half for Macbeth and Midsummer. The Tempest rounds out the Top 10 at 22% engagement. Deep down in this list at 7%, tucked between Merry Wives of Windsor and Love's Labour's Lost, is Richard II. This obscurity was seen as a feature not a bug for Jean Vilar when he opened the first Festival d'Avignon with Richard II in 1947. Since this performance, the play has become something of a hallmark of French theatre. This year, Christophe Rauck adds his own directorial vision at the Festival's Gymnase du Lycée Aubanel with Micha Lescot in the title role.

There's no place like home so Broadway Palm (and Toto, too!) are partnering this summer to raise funds for the Gulf Coast Humane Society. The Wizard of Oz is playing at Broadway Palm through August 12, 2022 and during the run, the theatre is selling paper paw prints for $1 each.

Another classic from the 1940s is gracing the stage at Broadway at Music Circus.  This time, it’s Kiss Me, Kate, the musical-within-a-musical that cemented Cole Porter’s return to Broadway as a successful lyricist and composer.  It ended up being Porter’s longest-running Broadway show and won the very first Tony Award for Best Musical. 

The battle between good and evil has commenced, with rehearsals starting this week for the upcoming Australian professional production premiere of Jekyll and Hyde produced by Hayes Theatre Co. The enthralling and chilling tale is being brought to life by an energetic and talented cast of 13 who have come together in preparation for their first performance on 29 July at the intimate Hayes Theatre.

Theatre Tulsa Academy will start the theatre company’s 100th season with two youth productions in July, “Shrek Jr.” and “Into The Woods, Jr.” Theatre Tulsa Academy is an interactive theatre training program for youth. The course trains students on the essentials of musical theatre – auditioning, acting, vocal music, dance, and more. 

La Jolla Playhouse has announced the location of its 2023 Without Walls (WOW) Festival of immersive and site-inspired work. Presented in association with the San Diego Symphony, next year’s WOW Festival will take place April 27 – 30, 2023 at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. 

Raymond Gubbay Limited has announced that Varna International Ballet and Orchestra will visit the UK for the very first time in their 75-year history with classical performances of THE NUTCRACKER, SWAN LAKE, COPPELIA and GISELLE.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced Common Ground Theatre as its 2022/2023 Theatre-in-Residence. Spearheaded by Christopher Ashley, the Rich Family Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse, the Theatre-in-Residence program aims to encourage the artistic development of local performing arts organizations, while contributing to the San Diego theatre scene as a whole.

Lake Tahoe Dance Collective (LTDC) presents the tenth annual Lake Tahoe Dance Festival, which will take place this summer from July 27-29, 2022 at venues in Tahoe City and Truckee, CA for in-person audiences. Tickets start at $25 and are available online at laketahoedancecollective.org. Portions of the event will also be available for free online viewing on the company’s website from Saturday, July 30 through Tuesday, August 2.

SDCF announces the host theatre for its 2022 Lloyd Richards New Futures Residency program: Actors Theatre of Louisville in Louisville, KY. Applications are being accepted now for a Resident Artist, who will be mentored by Actors Theatre of Louisville's Executive Artistic Director Robert Barry Fleming for one year while also undertaking their own artistic projects at the host theatre.
