Catskill's beloved Flo Hayle returns to the director's chair for a two-weekend run of Alfred Uhry's heart-warming 1988 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama "Driving Miss Daisy", parking itself at Bridge Street Theatre for eight performances only, Thursdays through Sundays from October 11-21, 2018.

Multi award-winning Welsh theatre company, Theatr na nÓg (TOM, Eye of the Storm) are taking their acclaimed political love story Nye & Jennie on tour across Wales and Scotland this autumn.

Winner of 19 major accolades, including multiple Tony, Olivier and Drama Desk Awards, Stephen Daldry's (Billy Elliot, The Crown) multi award-winning production of J.B. Country comedy legend Minnie Pearl is brought to life thanks to Minnie Pearl: All The News From Grinder's Switch, a musical comedy revue making its debut this weekend at Nashville's Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre in a very limited, four performance engagement through September 13. Directed with obvious respect by Joy Tilley Perryman and featuring a top-flight ensemble of tremendously talented actors, the newly created show from Belmont University professor and music historian Don Cusic takes a lovingly nostalgic look at the show business career of Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon, the Hickman County native who rose to the top ranks of country stardom with the comic creation of her alter ego.

Actors Co-op Theatre Company (Ovation Award-Winner 2017 Best Play, Intimate Theatre for 33 Variations) presents the first show in its 27th Season with the thriller ROPE, written by Patrick Hamilton, directed by Ken Sawyer, produced by Kevin Shewey.  ROPE will preview on Thursday, September 20 at 8pm and will open Friday, September 21 at 8pm and run through Sunday, October 29 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre, 1760 N. Gower St. 90028 (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.

Kate Mulvany's adaptation for stage of Ruth Park's much loved The Harp In The South trilogy directed by Kip Williams is a unequivocal success. 

This fall, BAMcinématek presents two series highlighting contemporary cinema from the Arab world. From Saturday, September 29 through Thursday, October 4 Contemporary Arab Cinema comes to BAM for the first time. Curated by Lina Matta, the series showcases the complexity of Arab culture through new works from some of the Middle East and North Africa's boldest and most innovative filmmakers. Multiple filmmakers will be in attendance during the series. From October 5 through October 11, following Contemporary Arab Cinema, BAMcinématek presents Wajib + The Films of Annemarie Jacir, an exclusive week-long run of Jacir's latest film and the first New York retrospective of the Palestinian filmmaker's work. Jacir will be in attendance opening weekend for post-screening Q&As.

The complete lineup for the Spotlight on Documentary section of the 56th New York Film Festival, taking place September 28-October 14 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, has been announced. This year's series of dispatches from the front lines of nonfiction cinema features intimate portraits of artists, depictions of the quest for political and social justice, and much more.

Melissa Chandon and Matt Rogers' joint exhibition at the Napa Valley Museum Yountville embodies the idyllic 'California Dream' of freedom and vitality. Paintings of palm trees, lifeguard stations, and woody-style station wagons carrying surfboards set against expansive blue skies capture the indelible collective memory of the relaxed, carefree beach lifestyle that took hold of imaginations around the world in the 1960s.  With their vivid dream-like palettes and sense of light and air, Chandon and Rogers have each earned reputations for depicting the essential character of the Golden Coast. This exhibition - which also includes rare woody cars, surfboards and other elements of surf culture - unites the artists' visions, celebrating a moment in time when the world collectively dreamed of the fun and sun of 1960's California, and embraced its spirit of love, peace, and connection. Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 1 from 5 - 7:30 pm is FREE for members; $20 for Non-Members.

FotoFocus, the Cincinnati-based non-profit arts organization that champions photography and lens-based art, is proud to announce new programming details for the fourth FotoFocus Biennial-the largest biennial of its kind in America. Cole Porter's 1948 love letter to showbiCole Porter's 1948 love letter to showbiz is brilliantly served by Opera North's big, bold and bawdy production - both soaringly romantic and packed with meta winks. A touring staple, Jo Davies' detailed take (the revival helmed by Ed Goggin) beds down very comfortably in the London Coliseum.

From dancing under the baton of Igor Stravinsky, having a passionate love affair with celebrated poet Frank O'Hara, and appearing as lead dancer in the masterpiece Pas de deux by the great filmmaker Norman McLaren, Vincent Warren touched hands with history. His is a tale worth telling, the story of a man and the road he travelled, recounted in a documentary that by extension celebrates important and compelling moments of our recent history.

Gingold Theatrical Group's 13th Season of Project Shaw, a special series of evenings offering some of Shaw's greatest works and those of his contemporaries, presented monthly at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy, continued on June 18th with Buoyant Billions, one of Shaw's wittiest and least known plays.

Despite its flaws, it's hard not to enjoy GUYS & DOLLS. The music is infectious, and the characters are memorable. This production isn't perfect, nor is it a rendition of the old classic; some attendees are bound to be startled or surprised by the modern twists. But if you know what you're getting going in, this show is worthy of your time and the ticket price. For families of all ages who want to have fun without a ton of thought, go!

The tone for Mona Mansour's three-plays is set with two words projected onto a spinning set piece: “It's complicated.” It is. It's very complicated. But sometimes complicated can be a beautiful thing.

This is a show that will delight any musical theatre aficionado.

Mona Mansour is a member of the Public Theater's Emerging Writers Group and a resident playwright at New Dramatists. 'The Vagrant Trilogy,' which follows a Palestinian family over a forty-year period, is comprised of three of her plays; the Mosaic Theatre production, which opens on June 11th (previews start June 6th), is the first time all three plays will be staged together. 'The Vagrant Trilogy' is part of the 2018 Voices from a Changing Middle East Festival.
