OPERA America announced $135,000 in commissioning grants to seven opera companies through its Opera Grants for Women Composers program, supported by the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation since 2014.
The Theatre Group at SBCC will start the season July 11-28, 2018 in the Garvin Theatre with the musical, GREASE. Book, lyrics and music by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.
NACL Theatre presents the New York City premiere of SHAKESPEARE'S WILL by award-winning Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, whose acclaimed play Of Human Bondage premiered at Signature Theatre in a Soulpepper production in 2017. It stars Tannis Kowalchuk as Anne Hathaway, the woman who married William Shakespeare. Directed by Mimi McGurl, performances run though April 1 at HERE.
