Dallas Theater Center (DTC) celebrates the 125th birthday of Our Town playwright Thorton Wilder with its newest production at the Kalita Humphreys Theater which began performances January 27.

DTC will present the production with English and Spanish spoken throughout the production. It features translated passages by Nilo Cruz and Jeff Augustin. DTC's production is the first Wilder production in the 125th year-long celebration in 2022.

Since then, Mikel has been featured in multiple DTC productions and currently features in Cake Ladies at the Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre as Tweedy-Bird, a character written specifically for her.

Robert Battle, Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, announced today that internationally renowned performer, choreographer, director, and multi-disciplinary artist Francesca Harper has been appointed Artistic Director of Ailey II, the Ailey organization's acclaimed company of young dancers. Ms. Harper will assume her duties on September 7, 2021, and will immediately begin preparing for Ailey II's return to the stage.

From classic movies like, “The Wizard of Oz,” “Dirty Dancing, “Crazy Rich Asians,” “27 Dresses” and “The Notebook” to Max Originals such as “Love Life,” “Selena + Chef, and “The Great Pottery Throwdown,” to beloved HBO series like “Big Little Lies” and “Sex and the City,” there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

The 23-track compilation features Violent Femmes’ biggest hits, including “Blister in the Sun,” “American Music,” and “Gone Daddy Gone,” plus live recordings of favorites like “Add It Up,” and “Kiss Off,” alongside a trove of demos, B-sides, interstitial voice recordings, and rarities.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Ice Theatre of New York (ITNY) presents a City Skate Pop Up Concert at Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park on Thursday, February 25 at 4pm at The Rink at Bryant Park. ITNY performers include Aaron Singletary and Val Levine, with choreography by Douglas Webster and Jody Sperling. The event is free and open to the public.
