Park City Institute will close out the 2018 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series, Sunday September 2, with Nashville Cafe, an evening of country music, completing the concert series' season at City Park. The show will feature music performed by three stars of CMT's hit musical drama series Nashville, Chris Carmack, Chip Esten and Sam Palladio. The show begins at 6:00 P.M., and gates open at 4:30 P.M.

A mannequin manufacturer by day, James Chiao will be fulfilling his dream with the world premiere of his musical TENOR BY NIGHT September 22, 2018 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood (with preview performances at the Rose Center Theater in Westminster, August 17 through 26). James took two subjects he's most familiar with (mannequins and singing) and mashed them together.

The Wattis Institute launches its 20th anniversary year with the exhibition Adam Linder: Full Service, a survey exhibition of five choreographic works by Adam Linder (b. 1983, Sydney, Australia; lives and works in Los Angeles). The exhibition is on view at the Wattis Institute from September 8 through September 29, 2018, with performances taking place all day, every day, during open hours. A precise schedule appears below. The opening reception is Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Soul Rep Theatre Company is ecstatic to collaborate with Echo Theatre in co-producing the world premiere of THE MONARCH, written by Soul Rep Co-Founder and area playwright, Anyika McMillan-Herod. The production is co-directed by McMillan-Herod and Tonya Holloway, Soul Rep's Co-Artistic Director and Co-Founder. The production will run June 15 - June 30 at the Bath House Cultural Center, located at 521 E. Lawther Drive, on the east shore of White Rock Lake.

Outdoor retailer L.L.Bean announced its annual Summer in the Park schedule of free outdoor concerts and activities for families to celebrate the summer in Maine. The concert series that brings regional and nationally-known artists to L.L.Bean's Flagship store in Freeport has become a tradition for locals and summer visitors alike for two decades. Activities also include free morning yoga, outdoor movies, and festivals from July 4 to September 1.

Fort Lauderdale Mayor and LGBTQ Advocate Dean Trantalis will be the recipient of the first-ever Pride Center at Equality Park 'Alan Schubert Award of Excellence ' during the fourth annual Diversity Honors presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida at 7 p.m. on April 27 at the Hard Rock Event Center. The Board of Trustees of the Morris Museum announced that it has elected a new member: Matthew H. Bruhn. The election took place at the October 3, 2017 meeting of the Board. On Thursday, October 5, 2017, Dennis LaBarre, current Chairman of the Board of The Cleveland Orchestra, will receive The Cleveland Orchestra's twenty-second annual Distinguished Service Award. The Musical Arts Association, the governing non-profit organization of The Cleveland Orchestra, established the annual Distinguished Service Award in 1996 to recognize ongoing and extraordinary service to the Orchestra. Last summer, a group form the Ohio Humanities Council visited Piqua to consider it as one of their Ohio Chautauqua sites for 2017. Unfortunately, they were not selected, but they did encourage the group to develop their own Chautauqua event. Well, give folks from Piqua a challenge and they deliver. So a dedicated committee officially began working on Piqua Chautauqua! The dates for this event will be September 19, 20 & 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will take place at Hance Pavilion, located in Fountain Park in Piqua.

HERE begins its 2017-2018 producing season with Stairway to Stardom, a world premiere Resident Artist production by Amanda Szeglowski / cakeface, commencing the 25th Anniversary of this award-winning, boundary-stretching institution. Stairway to Stardom, developed through the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP), will have 10 performances tonight, September 12, through September 23 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street), launching this milestone season.
