Morris Museum Elects New Trustee, Matthew H. Bruhn

The Board of Trustees of the Morris Museum announced that it has elected a new member: Matthew H. Bruhn. The election took place at the October 3, 2017 meeting of the Board. In making the announcement, Gerri Horn, the Board's Chairman, said: "It is a pleasure to welcome Matt to our Board. There is no doubt that his acumen in financial oversight, coupled with his long-standing respect and affection for the Morris Museum, will make him a most valuable Trustee."?

Matthew H. Bruhn joined PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1998 and is a Lead Tax Partner in the New York Metro Core Tax Group. He has over twenty years' experience in the region working in public accounting (audit and tax) as well as three years in private industry as a tax director at a U.S. multinational / publicly traded chemical company. Matt's experiences has allowed him to empathize with his clients as he has faced many the same issues and challenges that tax directors face today. His overall passions include the delivery of tax related consulting, tax accounting and compliance services to a broad range of clients within the Industrial and Pharma Sector.

Mr. Bruhn is a a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State and New Jersey Societies of Certified Public Accountants. He currently holds a CPA license in New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Bruhn has resided in Madison, New Jersey for most of his life and has frequented the Morris Museum as a child and as a parent. Some of his memories from the Museum include the exhibits of the moon rocks from the manned moon missions in the 1970s as well as the model train and LEGO exhibits. He has been very active in his community as the treasurer and tax preparer for the PTO of the Torey J. Sabatini Elementary School, on the Board of Directors for the Madison Community Pool, and as a contributor to Habitat for Humanity.

Mr. Bruhn received his Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University in 1992 and completed his Masters in Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2009.

About the Morris Museum

Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum is an award-winning, community-based arts and cultural institution which serves the public through high caliber exhibitions in the arts, sciences and humanities. The Museum also offers educational programs, family events, and is home to the Bickford Theatre and its wide range of performing arts offerings. Continuously serving the public since 1913, the Morris Museum has been designated a Major Arts Institution and has received the New Jersey State Council on the Arts' Citation of Excellence, among other awards. The first museum in New Jersey to be accredited, the Morris Museum was re-accredited in 2013 by the American Alliance of Museums.

The Morris Museum is a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to active duty military personnel and their families, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The Museum is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road (at the corner of Columbia Turnpike) in Morristown, NJ, and is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 12:00 to 5:00pm. In addition, the Museum is open evenings from 5:00 to 8:00pm on the second and third Thursday of the month. Admission to the Museum is $10 for adults and $7 for children, students and senior citizens. Admission is always free for Museum members.
