As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Tony Award-winning producer, 'Hamilton' alum and 'Power' co-star Brandon Victor Dixon will star as Judas and join an already stellar cast in NBC's highly anticipated special event 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,' to be aired Easter Sunday, April 1 from the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y. Also joining the cast are Tony nominee Ben Daniels as Pontius Pilate, Tony nominee Norm Lewis as Caiaphas, Broadway veteran Jason Tam as Peter, 'M. Butterfly' star Jin Ha as Annas and Swedish rock star Erik Gronwall as Simon Zealotes.

More members of the 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live!' cast have been announced. Set for Easter Sunday (April 1, 2018), NBC will bring to broadcast television 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live!' -- a one-of-a-kind live staging of the iconic 1971 Broadway rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. John Legend and Sara Bareilles & John Legend Talk NBC's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert'

A concert version of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, starring American actor Drew Sarich, is set to be performed at the Ronacher Theatre March 23rd-April 2nd. Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the duo's second attempt at a biblical musical (following JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT) started as a concept album before making its debut on Broadway in 1971. It was still a decade away from making its Vienna debut, being first shown there in 1981.

At a star-studded ceremony tonight, the winners of the 2017 Sydney Theatre Awards were announced, with 37 Awards presented, shared between 18 productions which played in Sydney during the calendar year of 2017. Over 450 members of the Sydney theatre community packed the Everest Theatre at the Seymour Centre to celebrate the best of Sydney theatre.

The Granite Theatre of Westerly, announces the opening of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar , music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.
