Oscar-qualifying New York Int'l Children's Film Festival announced the complete short film lineup for its 2019 event, which runs February 22-March 17 at theaters throughout New York: IFC Center, Scandinavia House, Quad Cinemas, SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, Alamo Drafthouse and the Museum of the Moving Image. Established in 1997, the acclaimed Festival is the nation's largest for children and teens and will present new animated, live action, documentary and experimental shorts and features from 37 countries. San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock today announced repertory and casting for the Company's 97th Season, opening Friday, September 6, 2019, with a gala performance of Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet (Rom o et Juliette) starring tenor Bryan Hymel and soprano Nadine Sierra in Op ra de Monte-Carlo Director Jean-Louis Grinda's production. Porchlight Music Theatre continues its "lost" musicals in staged concert series with Porchlight Revisits Can-Can, music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Abe Burrows with direction by Adrian Abel Azevedo, musical direction by Linda Madonia and choreography by Shanna VanDerwerker. Porchlight Revisits Can-Can is presented for three performances-only Wednesday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 7 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Verb Ballets has announced new offerings in its dance classes focused on opportunities for youth! Beginning in January these programs will aim to nurture a love of dance as an art form and healthy activity. Classes in Creative Movement and Ballet will help kids build a strong foundation for dance by improving coordination, strength, flexibility, musicality and good teamwork! Classes are available for a variety of different ability levels and age ranges. Classes begin January 7, 2019.

Jacob's Pillow announces the full season lineup of Festival 2019 including world premieres, new commissions, international artists, anniversary celebrations, Pillow-exclusive engagements, and work developed at the Pillow Lab. Entering its 87th consecutive summer, Jacob's Pillow is home to the longest-running dance festival in the United States, a National Historic Landmark, a National Medal of Arts recipient, and has steadily expanded its reach in the field and its local community as a year-round center for dance research and development. Festival 2019 opens June 19, attracting audiences both on and off its site in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, through August 25.

Alumni of Copenhagen's famous Mayhem collective, they follow in the footsteps of some of the region's most exciting exports, including Iceage (whose live-band currently include 2 members of Pardans), Marching Churchand Lower. However, Pardans adds a new and jazzy sound to the beloved scene by making music that shares a mentality with the 70s 'No Wave' scene; experimental, unconventional and utterly unique.

The McCallum Theatre presents Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox on Saturday, December 8, at 8:00pm. Featuring a rotating collective of virtuosic vocalists with sizzling stage presence, Postmodern Jukebox performs pop music in a time machine, reimagining Top 40 hits by artists such as Beyonce, Celine Dion, Radiohead and more with vintage, Gatsby-esque glam and a contagious energy that will have audiences' toes tapping. To usher in the upcoming Twenty-Twenties, famed time-twisting musical collective Postmodern Jukebox will circumnavigate the globe with their Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour. The tour is meant to prepare the world for a new decade, one that Postmodern Jukebox creator Scott Bradlee hopes will see a return to the style and craftsmanship that typified the music of past generations.
