Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Center's Principal Dance Company and America's cultural ambassador to the world, has announced highlights of its always-anticipated annual season at New York City Center. Returning to its “home” theater for four weeks November 30 - December 24, 2022, the Ailey company will present a world premiere by Kyle Abraham, the company premiere of Twyla Tharp's Roy's Joys, and a new production of Alvin Ailey's Survivors.

Maestro Gerard Schwarz and narrator Jon Secada embark upon a newly crafted reimagining of Sergei Prokofiev's musical masterpiece when Palm Beach Symphony premieres “The Adventures of Peter and the Wolf” as part of the Dale A. McNulty Children's Concert Series on Sunday, October 16 at 3 p.m. at the Eissey Campus Theater on the Palm Beach State College campus. 

The Rocky Horror Show returns to the Thigpen Main Stage just in time for Halloween. Running September 30th through October 29th, this spooky, sensual fan-favorite is directed and choreographed by Trustus Company member Terrance Henderson and musically directed by Company Emeritus Chris Cockrell with company member Walter Graham returning to the role of Frank'N'Furter.

Overall--especially in this tighter, revised version lifted from London’s West End production that’s much zippier than the original--there is no denying that YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is a witty, super funny, and genuinely enjoyable musical comedy that earns plenty of laughs and smiles along the way.

The Public Theater, the Barnard Center for Research on Women and the Ntozake Shange Literary Trust have announced the establishment of The Ntozake Shange Social Justice Theater Residency. This rotating two-year playwriting residency is named in honor of Public Theater artist and Barnard alumna (Class of 1970) Ntozake Shange.

At the time, all I knew about the show was that it was based on ROMEO AND JULIET and it had opened to positive reviews two days before.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center has announced MagicSpace Entertainment Presents: Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis on November 16, 2022 and Alton Brown Live: Beyond The Eats – The Holiday Variant on December 2, 2022. 

Chip Davis, founder and creator of Mannheim Steamroller, will celebrate over 35 Years of his annual Christmas concert tour, making it the longest running concert tour in the entertainment industry! The tour will make a stop at the Kentucky Center’s Whitney Hall on December 27 for one performance only.

Embracing people everywhere in the city that is its home, the Ailey organization will present Ailey Moves NYC! a summer celebration with free outdoor events throughout all five boroughs, July 23 – August 1, 2022.

PEN America marks a century of work at the forefront of the ever-urgent fight for free expression with PEN America at 100: A Century of Defending the Written Word, which presents letters, photographs, posters, awards, and other artifacts dating from 1922 to the present.

Buck Creek Players is set to complete its 48th season with a production of LITTLE WOMEN on the mainstage. Nine live in-person performances will run at the playhouse starting on Friday, June 3rd and running through Sunday, June 19th. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $18 for seniors and students.
