Vancouver Opera will present a special Wagner double bill performance on February 13 at 7:30 p.m. Two beautiful chamber music works by Richard Wagner, filmed in Vancouver's stunning Christ Church Cathedral, will premiere on Valentine's Day. Maestro Leslie Dala conducts members of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra and Mezzo-Soprano Krisztina Szabó.

As one of the lucky October-born people, the celebration of Halloween has always been a very important occasion for me as it is just a handful of days after my birthday. Growing up enjoying playing dress-up at this time of year always brought out my imagination into the realm of spirits, goblins, and how I just assumed they lived together with us in this world. So at this time of year, I have always wanted to attend the annual GHOSTWALK an in the streets production held in Santa Paula which brings to life encounters with local sprits who share the history of unique locations in the lovely quaint town. And now virtually I have - and so should you!

The Met Cancels 2020-21 Opera Season, Announces Premieres for 2021-22

The Metropolitan Opera announced today that the ongoing health crisis has resulted in the cancellation of the entire 2020-21 season, but the company also announced ambitious artistic plans for its 2021-22 season, which will open with the Met premiere of Terence Blanchard's Fire Shut Up in My Bones.

In the musical Barnum, a song lyric compels you to 'join the circus like you wanted to, when you were a kid.'  In the family friendly new musical The Giant Hoax, a young farm girl named Emily will do just that.  She's heard about the Cardiff Giant and wants to see the amazing wonder for herself.  Emily runs away from home and will learn some valuable lessons, meet an assortment of colorful characters and sing about 'Wonderful Things.'

Christopher Michaels directs a cast of 13, including Paul Aguirre*, Mary Albert, Henry Fin Berry, Greg Carter*, Sarah Chiu, Yvette Monique Clark*, Jianzi Colón-Soto, Daniel Moser*, Robyne Parrish*, Kevin Riddagh, Staci Stout, Ben Tostado*, and Forest VanDyke*. Sixteen performances will be staged on a varying scheduling at Theatre Row's Theatre One (formerly The Lion Theatre) 410 West 42nd Street in New York City from November 19-December 7, 2019. The Giant Hoax is recommended for ages six and up.

With performances beginning tonight on Theatre Row, IndieWorks Theatre Company, Inc., and Visceral Entertainment are pleased to announce that $18.69 rush tickets are available for each performance of The Giant Hoax, a new musical based upon the true(?) story of New York's famous Cardiff Giant. In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Cardiff Giant's discovery, rush tickets are available at the door one hour prior to each performance with a maximum of two tickets per person, subject to availability.

Full Company Announced For Theatr Clwyd's MOLD RIOTS

Theatr Clwyd today announces further details for the world première of Bethan Marlow's Mold Riots, which will see a community and professional cast bring one of Wales' forgotten dark days to life on the streets of Mold in a large-scale promenade production with locations including Mold Town Council Chamber, Mold cattle market and St Mary's Church. Katie Posner directs Gethin Alderman (Robat), Lauren Fitzpatrick (Margaret), Amy Forrest (Ailis), and Kai Owen (David), alongside a community cast of over 100 from ages 7 to 87, including 30 children.

Students in Haven Kids Rock, the afterschool music program of Mott Haven Academy in the South Bronx, will harness the power of music and the performing arts to explore the themes of immigration, shelter, foster care, family, and more through the lens of their firsthand experiences growing up and coming of age in New York City. Many of the students in Haven Kids Rock are also involved in New York City's child welfare and foster care systems, bringing their own personal experiences to the stage.
