Cosplay Records – the music label of Central Florida strings super-group Violectric – announce the signing of their newest esteemed artist “The Disney Violinist” Robert Kerr.  Kerr has teamed up with Cosplay to produce his debut album, which will feature twelve of his classical string quartet arrangements of music from his favorite Disney movies, performed with fellow Disney string musicians.

Firehouse Theatre has announced the performance schedule and creative team for SOUND OF THE GUNS -- a world premiere musical/concert experience written by Jim O'Ferrell with his band The J.O.B. The title of this unique concert production comes from a military saying that if you get lost on the battlefield you should move toward the sound of the guns.

Milt Larsen has died at 12:28pm on Sunday, May 28th, in Los Angeles of Natural Causes at 92. The patriarch of magic, Milt was perhaps best known for his life-long role in the world of magic and illusion, and grew up in a family of magicians.

Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (May 19–June 10), one of opera's most beloved works, receives its first new Met staging in 19 years from acclaimed English director Simon McBurney. In his Met debut, McBurney lets loose a volley of theatrical flourishes, incorporating projections, aerial and sound effects, physical comedy, a hovering platform, and acrobatics to match the spectacle and drama of Mozart's work. Maestro Nathalie Stutzmann—having made her Met debut earlier this season with Don Giovanni—performs Mozart double duty leading both productions running simultaneously. With the pit raised, the Met Orchestra musicians will interact with the cast. Gareth Morrell conducts the May 27 performance.
