It was the 2018 Lucille Lortel & Drama League Nominee for Outstanding Musical.

Antaeus Theatre Company's 2018 Southern California premiere of NATIVE SON has been chosen as the third and final production of Center Theatre Group's BLOCK PARTY 2019, beginning April 18, 2019 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Nambi E. Kelley's adaptation of Richard Wright's classic novel Native Son will be reprised with its entire original Antaeus cast of nine, again with director Andi Chapman at its helm. I had the chance to ask some delving questions of Jon Chaffin, who portrays NATIVE SON's most integral character, Bigger Thomas.

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE the multiple Tony Award-winning theatre dedicated to the production of new plays and bold interpretations of classic works, has announced its 2019-20 Season.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Leguizamo will serve as co-writer and co-lyricist only for Kiss My Aztec! - 11 other talented actors will perform in this production. Taccone will also direct.

Celebrating an opening night is always exciting, if exhausting, nerve-wracking and exhilarating, but when it's the very first production of a new theater company you've co-founded, odds are it's even more so. Just ask Emily Faith who is directing the premiere production of A Midsummer Night's Dream for the Dallas-based Lily & Joan theater company she co-founded in 2018 with Erika Larsen.

Dorset Theatre Festival announces its 42nd Season, featuring the classic revival of Noel Coward's Private Lives directed by Evan Yionoulis (June 20 - July 6), the World Premiere of Dig, written and directed by Theresa Rebeck (July 11 - 27), the World Premiere of Mrs. Christie by Heidi Armbruster, directed by Giovanna Sardelli  (August 1 - 17), Slow Food by Wendy MacLeod, directed by Jackson Gay (August 22 - 31), and Pipeline Series: Three New Works in Process (July 2, July 23, and August 13). Nassim Soleimanpour is an Iranian playwright whose new play NASSIM is currently being presented by Barrow Street Theatricals at New York City Center Stage II. NASSIM has previously played to sold-out audiences across the globe and features a unique set-up of a new guest actor at each performance who has not read or rehearsed the play. Soleimanpour previously explored this concept in his play WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT, which ran Off-Broadway for nine months in 2016. So far in its run, NASSIM has been performed by guest actors such as Michael Urie, Tatiana Maslany, Beth Malone, Ethan Slater, Kate Walsh and many more. Nassim Soleimanpour talked to BroadwayWorld about working with these amazing guest artists, how NASSIM differs from WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT, and the difficult process that almost didn't allowed him to be in the country for the play's American premiere.

Brandi Carlile performs a solo, acoustic rendition of her Grammy Award-winning single, “The Joke,” on today's episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Carlile also joins host Ellen DeGeneres for an interview. Prime Cut Productions has announced further details for Removed, a brand new play inspired by interviews with young people growing up in care in Northern Ireland, created in collaboration with playwright Fionnuala Kennedy and Voice Of Young People In Care (VOYPIC), and in association with Young at Art. Removed will receive its world premiere at Belfast Children's Festival on Saturday 9 March and run from 07 to 16 March 2019 at the Brian Friel Theatre.
