Celebrity Attractions has announced an extraordinary lineup of five national Broadway tours coming in the Celebrity Attractions’ 2021-2022 Broadway Season to Robinson Performance Hall.  Kicking off the season is the London West End sell-out show, THE SIMON & GARFUNKEL STORY and is followed by the romantic new musical, ANASTASIA, in November.

The Philly POPS announced today the dates for the 2021–2022 Lights Up! Showtime! season, a dynamic new lineup featuring eight exciting shows, with all-new programs and returning fan-favorite guest artists. 

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

This winter, Trap Door Theatre will collaborate with eight directors to create a series of episodes adapted from Matei Visniec's Decomposed Theatre Or The Human Trashcan. From Dec. 3, 2020, to Feb.4, 2021, a unique adaptation from Visniec's 'dialogic spectacle of monologues' will be performed live on Zoom between the resident Chicago ensemble and an international group of guest performers and directors.

Trap Door Theatre will extend the run of ALAS, a fragment of Matei Visniec's Cabaret of Words that was translated by Daniela Șilindean. After a positive critical reception and remarkable turnout, the show will close on September 24.

Chicago's ensemble has invited members of its sister company, Trap Door International in Barcelona, to join the digital production, which opens July 31. Nat Randall and Anna Breckon's internationally acclaimed show sits at the intersection of performance, video and film, as 100 different men are invited to appear opposite Ruth Wilson as 'Virginia' who performs the exact same scene again and again, for a full 24 hours. The trailblazing German choreographer Pina Bausch's Bluebeard takes us into a mental war zone where the serrated edges of conjugal life cut deep. Radiating Bausch's singular vision and stunning theatricality, the 1977 piece receives its UK premiere at Sadler's Wells in a haunting revival by her company Tanztheater Wuppertal.
