Theater Latté Da announced casting for its 2026 NEXT Festival of New Musicals, featuring three new works — BLACK GIRL IN PARIS, HEARTS IS BROKE, and ALICE IN NEVERLAND — each receiving developmental workshops and public presentations at the Ritz Theater in Minneapolis.

Lyric Stage Boston has announced principal casting for its 2027 production of Les Misérables. Directed by Courtney O'Connor, the musical will star De'Lon Grant as Jean Valjean, Christopher Chew as Javert, and Kristian Espiritu as Fantine.

The show I saw last week on Wednesday, July 8, featured three warm-up acts and Ayrn performing under the stage name A.J. Chris. A.J. Chris was the feature comic of the evening.  A.J., who has already had significant success in the UK, had warned me that she had come home to try out a new routine in development to see how a U.S. audience would respond to her acquired U.K. sensitivity might play to a Kansas audience.  A.J. I was impressed with A.J.’s fearlessness, her body control, and her facial expressiveness.  She is a funny young lady with the looks that could easily help her catch on. .

Today’s subject Ryan Stajmiger is currently living his theatre life on tour playing the title character in Beetlejuice. The tour is currently playing here in DC at the National Theatre through July 19th. It should also be noted Beetlejuice had its World Premiere Pre-Broadway Engagement at the National Theatre in 2018, so this current engagement is indeed a homecoming.

The Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival will feature 32 shows across four venues in downtown Salt Lake City, including a brand new location, Lightree Studios. Tickets are available individually, as a three-pack, or a ten-pack.
