The Alliance Theatre's charming and well-acted production, running through September 24 at the Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University, tells the story of this play's prospects for an illustrious future as it adeptly showcases the play's delicious explorations of both the Elizabethan theatre and the craft of writing and previews the possibilities for inventive staging that the script welcomes.

Arden Theatre Company, in partnership with the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, presents a benefit, pay-what-you-can performance on Wednesday, September 20 at 8 p.m., of the Tony Award-winning musical CABARET. Ticket proceeds will be donated to the Harvey Arts Recovery Fund for distribution to needy artists and arts organizations in Houston that suffered damage during Hurricane Harvey. A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) announces its 2017-2018 Season. From September 2017 through May 2018, the Chamber Orchestra will perform six programs as part of its subscription series. All six concert pairs will be performed in the Kimmel Center's intimate Perelman Theater.

Based on the 1998 David Wallace novel and the 2003 Tim Burton film, BIG FISH revolves around traveling salesman Edward Bloom and the big stories he tells to his realist son Will. When Will finds out he's going to be father and must, at the same time, confront his father's mortality, he sets out to separate fact from fiction and find the man inside the behemoth.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim announces that Dior will design costumes for the World Premiere of Falls the Shadow, a new 30-minute work made in and for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum rotunda. Falls the Shadow is spearheaded by American Ballet Theatre (ABT) principal Daniil Simkin, with new choreography by Alejandro Cerrudo, and projection design by Dmitrij Simkin.
