Sarasota Opera has joined forces with six opera companies nationwide to create a new commissioning initiative entitled Opera for All Voices: Stories of our Time. This new venture is committed to telling wide-ranging stories that resonate with audiences regardless of age or prior experience with opera. Selected works will be co-commissioned and co-produced with other participating companies including Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Minnesota Opera, San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and Seattle Opera.

Celebrating the power of Jacob's Pillow's natural setting, internationally acclaimed dance company Pilobolus Dance Theater will premiere a new work commissioned specifically for the Pillow's iconic outdoor Inside/Out performance space, set against the Berkshire hills. The program featuring the world premiere and On the Nature of Things will kick off the Festival's 2017 free Inside/Out performance series with an extended three-day run, June 21-23.

Theater fills the Lackland Performing Arts Center as Centenary Stage Company announces its 2017 - 18 professional theater line-up. The Sitnik Theatre is set to burst as this season's main stage professional theater series includes four exciting CSC produced plays; The Learned Ladies, Newsies, Art and Hitler's Tasters. Centenary Stage Company's Fringe Festival also welcomes three incredibly unique guest productions; Song and Dance Men, Seeger: A Multimedia Solo Show and My Name is Gideon: I'm Probably Going to Die, Eventually as the festival returns for its third installment in the Kutz Theatre.

The play, which received the 2013-14 Annual Commission in collaboration with Curious Theatre Company, is currently running at Core Member Curious Theatre Company (Denver, CO) through June 17, 2017. By now, the idea has morphed into a pop-culture game lampooning (or honoring) one of our most prolific actors, but when John Guare's play, Six Degrees of Separation, debuted on Broadway in 1990, the idea that everyone on the planet was connected through a web of just six other people was a hard to imagine. So, to celebrate the 27-year history of Guare's play, we are going to attempt to connect the stars who originated the main roles on Broadway to the actors that assumed them for the revival, using only Broadway credits; hopefully we can get there in just six 'degrees.'

Italian native grapes once again shined bright at this year's 5StarWines, the evolution of Vinitaly's annual international wine selection, held March 31st to April 2nd in Verona. In the run-up to the world's largest wine event, over 2,200 wines from around the world were present, and were judged on a 100-point scale, and those that received a score of 90 points or more will be published in the new 5 Star Wines - the Book.
