The Broadway community mourns the loss of prolific producer, director, writer, and the individual recipient of the most Tony Awards in multiple categories in history, Harold Prince, who passed away on July 31, 2019 at age 91. To commemorate his life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of Broadway theatres in New York for one minute on Wednesday, July 31 at exactly 7:45pm.

The Linbury Prize is the UK's most prestigious award for Stage Design, providing a unique opportunity for graduating designers to work with some of the UK's leading theatre, opera and dance companies. This year the members of the judging panel are designers Lizzie Clachan (Absolute Hell, As You Like It), Katrina Lindsay (Small Island, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and Rajha Shakiry (Nine Night, Misty); the finalists will be designing for Birmingham Royal Ballet, Leeds Playhouse, Nuffield Southampton Theatres and Octagon Theatre Bolton.

Theatre Royal Bath Productions today announces full casting for its 2019 Spring Season in-house productions in the Main House, opening next month with Noel Coward's A Song at Twilight followed by Marie Jones' award-winning comedy Stones in His Pockets, in a co-production with Rose Theatre Productions. Simon Callow, Jane Asher, Jessica Turner and Ash Rizi will star in A Song at Twilight directed by Stephen Unwin running in Bath from 13 to 23 February with opening night for press on 20 February and then touring the UK through to mid-April. Stones in His Pockets will preview in Kingston from 28 February and open in Bath in March, ahead of a national tour running through the summer, starring Owen Sharpe and Kevin Trainor and directed by Lindsay Posner.

PERFECT CRIME, the Off-Broadway 'whodunit' that just recently celebrated 31 years and 13,000 performances has announced that Dan Sharkey has joined the cast, as Lional, replacing Patrick Noonan in the role. The smart, funny and fast-paced thriller at the Anne L. Bernstein Theater in The Theater Center in Times Square (1627 Broadway) is the longest running play in NYC history and first opened in 1987 and its leading lady Catherine Russell has performed in all 13,000 performances - earning her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Irvine Barclay Theatre was recently informed that Bebe Neuwirth is withdrawing from her concert engagement at Irvine Barclay Theatre on March 16th. Scheduling conflicts will preclude her from being able to perform at the Barclay as planned. In her stead, the Barclay is announcing a performance on the same date, March 16, 2019 at 8pm, of 4 GIRLS 4 featuring four legendary Broadway singers and actresses.

Graphic designer Frank Verlizzo, known professionally as FRAVER, takes you behind the scenes for a glimpse into the world of theatrical advertising and poster design. He created the logo designs for hundreds of theatrical productions from The Lion King to Agatha Christie'sThe Mousetrap. Over 20 of Fraver's poster designs for the works of theatre legend Stephen Sondheim are spotlighted including: Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, Getting Away With Murder, and the landmark 2002 Sondheim Celebration. His posters encompass those created for Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Kennedy Center, and New York City Center's Encores! series. Fraver by Design also features an additional 40 unpublished poster sketches never before seen for some of Broadway's favorite shows. Playbill called Frank 'Fraver' Verlizzo 'the theatre poster legend.'
