San Diego Musical Theatre announced today the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of The Full Monty. With a mix of raucous humor and an audacious pop-rock score, this Americanized stage version of the hit 1997 hit film features a book by Terrence McNally (Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Ragtime, Catch Me If You Can) with music and lyrics by David Yazbek (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown). The Full Monty will be directed by Neil Dale (SDMT's Billy Elliot), with Music Direction by Don LeMaster, and choreography by Paul David Bryant (SDMT's Ragtime). The Full Monty runs January 26 - February 25, 2018, at the historic Horton Grand Theatre, with press opening on Saturday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m.

The Old Globe's 2017 2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for Anton Chekhov's masterpiece Uncle Vanya, which has received a Globe-commissioned world premiere translation from Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, andLarissa Volokhonsky. Richard Nelson (Illyria, The Gabriel Plays, Tony Award winner for Best Book of a Musical for James Joyce's The Dead) also directs. Uncle Vanya will run February 10 March 11, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run February 10 14. Opening night is Thursday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents Watch on the Rhine, Lillian Hellman's 1940s political thriller about loyalty, family, and sacrifice. It was announced to day that Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andr Bishop) has selected its leading cast for the hotly anticipated revival of Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady. HBO star Lauren Ambrose will play Eliza Doolittle, supported by Harry Hadden-Paton as Henry Higgins, Norbert Leo Butz as Alfred P. Doolittle, and Diana Riggwill be Mrs. Higgins in the upcoming production directed by Barlett Sher.

Together with Ted Sperling and Laura's special guest Ryan Silverman they created The World of Rodgers and Hammerstein and it probably would be nominated for a Tony Award if it were in a theatre. The lucky audience that got to be up close and personal with Broadway royalty in Cafe Carlyle were at times overwhelmed with the beauty of the music being made by these three artists, who possess many theatre awards between them. So if you can join them, like all good hosts they are going to make sure there's plenty of good food, wine and conversation during your visit. You will even get to give them a hug and say goodnight to Laura, Ted, and Ryan after the show.
