Pasadena Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Danny Feldman announced the latest news for the theater’s upcoming six-month-long celebration of the works and impact of Stephen Sondheim January 26 through June 11, 2023. 

Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway premiere of Pictures From Home. Three of the theatre’s most inventive, inspired and award-winning artists will return to the stage, bringing to vivid theatrical life a comic and dramatic portrait of a mother, a father and the son who photographed their lives.

The film will follow three best friends as they travel to Key West, Florida to be bridesmaids for the surprise wedding of their college girlfriend, Marilyn (Midler). Once they arrive, their sisterhood is rekindled, the past rises up again in all its glory, and there’s enough sparks, drinks and romance to change their lives in unexpected ways.

The weather might be cooling, but the West End is heating up. October's theatrical offerings provide an embarassment of riches, with some fantastic shows coming up: from David Tennant as the lead in C.P. Taylor's acclaimed play GOOD to Carrie Hope Fletcher in The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the Rose, to Juliet Stevenson in The Doctor and Elton's John's new musical Tammy Faye.

Unavailable Memory: In Conversation with Cunningham & Cage is an evening of dance and music presenting Merce Cunningham's Totem Ancestor (1942) and Loops (1971) and six piano compositions by John Cage.

Concord Theatricals is launching Kick Off Your Sunday Shoes: The Footloose Competition, which will award ten schools in low-income communities with a complimentary license package to perform Footloose in honor of the stage musical’s upcoming 25th Broadway anniversary.

On Friday, September 30, The Sherman Playhouse will open its third production for the 2022 season, CARRIE: THE MUSICAL, directed by Bradford Blake (2021's WRECK THE HALLS and 2019's CABARET) with music direction by Charles Smith. Produced by Al Chiappetta, the curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. for a four week run.

Wayne Brady, Jordin Sparks, and more will be joined by a Real Housewife, a Bachelorette and a drag queen superstar, and more in season 31 of Dancing With the Stars.
